What I did to negotiate a later bedtime is to offer to go to bed at the set time, but be allowed to read until half an hour later.

I know it's unfair, but it's the price you pay for being the oldest... I know, because I got the same treatment.

I agree with the first person, But I will add a little more.

My bedtime is 10, but I want to get up at 6, which is 8 hours, which is what people my age, and yours need.
My alarm goes off at 6, but I sleep till 6:30, and I value that half hour so much, because I feel without it, I wouldn't be awake the next day.

Value that extra 30 minutes, it might not be fair, but believe me, VALUE IT!!

getting not enough sleep is bad. and getting too much sleep is just as bad. tell your parents that you think you're getting a little too much sleep and ask if you can stay up a little longer. yeah usually the older sibling has to suffer and the younger ones get it a little easier, but like the person below me said, enjoy it while you can! :]

trust me...take advantage of the extra sleep. when you're older you'll be willing to pay good money to go to bed at 9.30.
