People these days! I'm 15/f. I'd like to say I understand the people at my school but I can't. It seems as if all anyone cares about is getting drunk and having sex. It annoys me so much, I just don't understand why most of the girls seem like (in lack of a better word) sluts and all the guys are just pigs. My question is how do I put up with all of this when it's right in my face every day?
Thanks in advance...

all you gotta do is not care about any of them.Just watch them make these mistakes and learn from it so you dont have to learn it the hard way like almost all of them do.Be the wise one outta them and never copy them. The only thing these girls are gonna gain is a bad reputation,STD'S,pregnancy, and a whole lot of regret when they break up with their boyfreinds that they had sex with that dumped them cuz they thought"hey...if she did it before shell do it again and im not the last one" ]
Ha, high school for you.
The sad thing is, you can't control other people, only you. The only thin you can do, even know its so difficult, is just ignore it, and don't do it.
Find better friends at differnt schools, and nicer guys somewhere else. Meet more people from differnt schools. I am in middle school, but my school is just the same way. I made differnt friends at other places. It's the way to go! ]
My motto is Gnothi seauton.
Coming from the ancient greek motto written above the temple of Apollo at Delphi, it is what I base my reactions to the world around me on.
It means simply this. You must decide for yourself what reactions you have to the world and those around you. You've obviously become sickened with those around you who do things you yourself would not do.
So I say to do this, cling to what you believe and keep your beliefs higher than those around you. If you let the world get to you then the world has already one and you're just another victim in the social wars. Be better than that. Be yourself.
I feel the same way you do about that issue, don't think you're alone by a long shot. Take a bit of comfort in the fact you're not alone in your fight.
Good luck.

Hey hon,
I know it might be hard to ignore them and stuff but you can fight back, trust me. I was first introduced to porn when I was 12. I saw my first live sex scene when I was 8, so pretty much, I had a corrupted and scarred childhood and the "Stork Hotline Delivery" for "where babies came from" became a bullshit for me AGES ago! However, I didn't change at all. I didn't wear makeup like all the girls did, didn't wear short skirts and flirt with whoever male crossed my way.
I guess it's the 'thing' to do these days, you know? It's not completely peer pressure ... I'd say they've been influenced and they're sort of passing it on. I lived amongst perverts for 10 years. And I resisted. I'm sure you can do it too.
It's difficult at first, trust me on that one. Act like being normal and not into sex is the 'thing' this century. It confuses them a lot. Getting drunk and having sex is old news - it's time you 'create' the new 'fashion'.
Sorry I made this long. Hope it was useful.

Dear Puzzled:
My life's mottos are these:
Always dare to be different.
Always take pride in my unique individuality.
I am not above anyone, but I can strive to be above their actions.
That is the best way I know to cope with the actions of others. ]
