pixie sticks

Question Posted Friday April 13 2007, 1:01 pm

Are pixie sticks good physically to your body?

It tastes so good but I wonder of it's bad because I feel like it's kinda the same as eating a bowl of just sugar.

Thanks and when you answer can you tell me if you're a professional or not so I can know for sure?

pixie sticks are not healthy. yes it is like eating from a bowl of sugar, except its flavored.

you cant really eat anything with it to make it healthier, your still eating that one stick of sugar whether or not you "diluted" it with something else.

although you can cut the amount of pixie sticks you eat in half or something, that would be much healthier. OR you can even switch to plain sugar-it has no artificial colors or flavorings (which are super duper bad for you: they can even effect your mental system, like cause you to overreact, be very irratable, etc)

i am not a professional, but i hope i helped anyway!

Ummm.. I know they're pure sugar which in the end, can't be that good for you.

Try not to have so much and when you have one, drink at least one glass of water afterwards.

I wouldn't reccomend eating them though.

Is this a joke?

Pixie sticks are bad for you, pixie sticks are sugar. No matter what you eat or drink with them, they are still sugar.

I am professional. Yes.

It is just like eating a bowl of sugar because all Pixy Stix are is flavored sugar. There are no other ingredients. Sugar is good for you, but not in such large amounts in its pure form. Pixy Stix are very very bad for you. Having too much sugar can make you fat, increase your risk of having a heart attack, and give you cavities among a ton of other negative things. I'm not a professional, but I think that most people would agree with me when I say that I know what I'm talking about. If you want to check the information I said against a reliable source, check out these websites.

I'm not sure how many grams of sugar are in Pixy Stix, but it'll say right on the package. Look at the Nutrition Facts on the package and find where it says the amount of sugar. Divide that by the serving size and you'll know how much sugar is in a single Pixi Stick. I would say that having two or three a day would be okay, but more than that would be unhealthy.

No. It IS the same as eating a bowl of sugar simply because pixie sticks are flavored/colored sugar. They're no good for you, and I don't suggest you eat a ton of them.

I'm no professional, but it doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

I am no professional, but it doesn't take a professional to know that pixie sticks are just pure sugar. It is not good for your body physically, as too much sugar never is. It is bad for your teeth, and it gives you a spike in your blood sugar levels which makes you hyper at first, then later drowsy.

theymos answered Friday April 13 2007, 4:38 pm:
The ingredients are:

Dextrose, Citric Acid, and Less than 2% of Maltodextrin, Corn Syrup Solids, Artificial Flavors, Blue 1 Lake, Blue 2 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake.

Dextrose is another name for sugar. So yes, it is pure sugar. It's probably just as bad for you as any other candy.
