Avoiding swimming?

Question Posted Friday April 13 2007, 12:58 pm

To be breif,
My mother is forcing me to go swimming tomorow..

I have a few reasons why I dont want to to..
*Im really self-conscious
*I hate swimming
*I self harm and im covered in scars

How am I supposed to get out of this without resorting to breaking my arm?
Cause I know EXACTLY how to do that if needs must.

Thanks

hey

you have lots of choices

- calmly explain to your mom those three reasons why you don't want to go swimming tomorrow.
- like the girls below me said, "forget" your swimming suit at home =]
- get "sick" (say you're not feeling well, nausea, vomitting... works everyy time!)

& well, the last solution is to just go. but i think you'd rather intentionally break your arm than go.

you can use a bunch of big chunky bracelets to cover up the scars, & there's no reason to be self-concious. tell yourself you are beautiful & perfect the way you are. to help feel more confident, stare at yourself in the mirror & point out your most favorite body parts. it makes you feel good. swimming isn't so bad! it's really healthy & works EVERY muscle in your body.

Leave your swim suit home or whatever. I use to self harm, and am sort of self conscious as well, but I still go.

Say you got your period early. If she asks for evidence, create one. It's easy =). And "Do you really wanna see it, mom?" would do the trick as well.

"Forget" your swimming suit when you go to the pool or wherever.

That's all I can think of right now.

Let me know how it goes so I can do the same when it's my turn XD.
