I have a lot of Christian friends, and almost all of them are fine with Halloween. I go to an Episcopalian school, in fact, and we do a Halloween celebration every year. However, I have met a lot of Christians who DO have problems with the holiday; I think it really depends on the way you practice Christianity. Within every religion, different followers see it different ways. If you say you don't think it's bad, I think it's okay for you to go trick-or-treating, as it's not like you're hurting anyone--provided it's okay with your parents.

I think that it is ok to go out on halloween and dress in like a costume as long as the costume isn't like really gory or anything. Also its ok to fress up as long as seeing all the other kids who dress up like freaks doesnt make you stop being a christian.
uisforukelele answered Monday April 2 2007, 11:51 pm: hahaha, of course it's okay. whoever told you it wasn't is a moron and obviously doesn't know the history of halloween, or hallow's eve. basically, it's an old celtic holiday where people thought that that was the night all the ghosts came out, so they dressed up in costumes to scare the ghosts away. it has nothing to do with satan or religion at all. so of course the holiday evolved into something fun and meaningless. actually, the people who really get into the spirit of halloween every year at my school are the devout christians. i'm christian and i participate in halloween every year. granted, i don't go out and worship the devil and do drugs and have sex with everybody. haha, no, my friends and i dress up in theme costumes... one year we were a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss... yeah. it's fun. but don't make a decision based on what other people tell you until you find out for yourself what you want to do. i mean, personally i can't see why anybody would have a problem with halloween. it's just some stupid holiday to take kids minds off of school in the middle of fall. I know a lot of people who are Christians that have enjoyed Halloween and celebrated it as well as collected and shelled out candy for years. The choice to celebrate it or not is yours based on what you feel is right or wrong.
Check the article out as it should help you determine in your mind whether it's right or wrong to partake. many Christians do partake in it each year but nobody but yourself and your beliefs can tell you if it's right or wrong to you. You have to weigh all the information with what you have been taught on a religious level. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]
XkittyOkatX answered Monday April 2 2007, 10:23 pm: I really dont see a problem with it. As long as you're not like.. into witchcraft and all that stuff, it should be good, lol. Most people at my church go, and unless you're like.. really super religious, I think it's fine.
It's all honestly about free candy and dressing up anymore, anyways. =P [ XkittyOkatX's advice column | Ask XkittyOkatX A Question ]
