Heyman answered Sunday April 1 2007, 8:41 pm: italian...if your school offers it. i take it and i love it. it's similar to spanish so you can pick up on the language quickly, but it is still a very beautiful language. honestly, i lost a lot of my spanish because of the similarity, but i wouldnt change my choice to take it.
LoveNJstyle answered Sunday April 1 2007, 7:33 pm: most schools only offer spanish or french and some have german and mandarin too.
in my biased opinion, i really think you should take spanish. since everyone is taking it, you'll have a lot of people to practice with & lots of people to help you with homework. there's a reason everyone takes it... it's because it's spreading and it will be useful in the future. butttt if you want to take something easier or that you will enjoy more, go with french. you can only speak it in about 4 different places in the world but it's cool. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]

i totally suggest latin. & i have reasons for it.
it really helps you on the SAT. imagine you see a vocab word you dont know. if you learn latin, you can break the word apart and decifer the meaning.
this doesnt just go for SATs, but for EVERYDAY LIFE! you can see a word & break it up & learn what it means from how it was created.
most english words originated from latin.
another suggestion is french. it's easy to learn & many of the words are english based. ex. - la salade. take a guess? a salad! so yeah it's really easy. (i'm taking it right now in 8th grade)
