I hate it!

Question Posted Monday February 26 2007, 1:01 pm

Hey. Well, I'm thirteen and I'm in 7th grade. I get honors, but I think that might stop this term. See, I used to not love school, but I still didn't mind it,and I always did my homework and got good grades on pretty much everything [I'm only talking about this year, not before then]. But now, as it's into third term, I hate school.I find myself faking sick a lot, even though I've missed what, 11 days so far? I guess my point is, I hate school. I count down the days to the weekends. I don't do my homework and try to find the easy way out of everything. Now I'm really lazy and lie a lot to get out of doing things school related. I can't do this anymore, I need to get through this year. I thought it was because I needed a vacation, but now I've gone through the whole February vacation and I'm still not ready to go back. Please help, I can't do this anymore.

Try doing your homework in other classes.
Like after first period and you know your homework. do it during second. This way you're half paying attention and half doing work. Sounds strange but young minds now-a-days are used to multitasking, as they do on the computer.
This'll give you more to do, and more time after school to do what you want.

It seems a little bit odd, but It worked for me. try it for a week and if it doesn't work out then Try playing a favorite CD as you do your homework. Just not one that you'd want to dance to. just something to drown everything else out. It'll pass the time better. and your work will get done.

Hey,

Sweetie, no one likes school.
In fact, your situation sounds a lot like mine when I was your age.
Your heart & mind has to overpower your laziness.
I know you don't want to be like this. FAILING GRADES? NOT BEING ABLE TO PASS BECAUSE YOU'RE ABSENT TOO MUCH BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO GO TO SCHOOL?
...I know that's not what you want.

The Solution? Simple.
Instead of wasting your time on whatever for hours and hours, give your guardians that item-that way, you won't be tempted to stop doing your homework.

Just think about it: aren't you happy when you get good grades?

Hun, you're so much smarter than this-I'm sure of it!
You have to go after what you want, & if you try hard enough, you'll get it.

SUMMER'S ALMOST HERE! THAT'S YOUR LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL :) THERE'S ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS LEFT!

Hope this helps & good luck

Try getting all your classes up or down to a C. Then if you're not stressed out and hating school, bring one important class(like math) up to a B. Continue upping your grades until you're getting stressed, then just try to maintain those grades. If you're still stressed at all Cs, then look at alternative education like private schools, charter schools, homeschooling, or online schools.

Make yourself a schedule for each day of your week. Afterschool, be sure to include at least 1-2 available hours for homework. STICK TO IT!! Make yourself get out of bed in the morning, stop faking sick completely. Tell yourself that you have to go to school. Let your mind overpower the urge to stay home. Sit up straight in your chair at school (they're made that uncomfortable for a reason)and make sure you pay attention.
