I CAN'T COOK

Question Posted Saturday February 17 2007, 2:24 am

I am 16 years old and a female. I don't know how to cook, I stopped after I burnt some eggs one morning. I haven't had the courage to go back in the kitchen. So when I do go back, I kind of forgot what I am suppose to do( I know sounds silly). Please help me with what I need to do to become a good cook.

Okay cooking always looks harder than it is. use little amouns of oil and if your making eggs put your stove on at medium. you can also make stuff not made in a stove or pam like salads and sandwishes. also try to boil you eggs it is better and it you dont get burned.

Like with anything in life, cooking is a skill and can be a great art form. And like any skill, you just need practice. Start off easy, like scrambled eggs instead of fried (i still cant cook a good fried egg). Help your mother or grandmother in the kitchen when they are cooking, they can be your best teacher. Also, your microwave can be a great companion should all else fail. I am 24 and just recently started cooking from scratch (like the last three months) so dont get frustrated with yourself, just remember cooking in the modern age is supposed to be fun, because lets be honest, you can survive without ever knowing how to fry an egg.

You have no idea how many mistakes I've made like that, except they were much worse. Once I almost caught the oven on fire, after leaving a pizza in there with the wrong temperature. So please, do not let this discourage you. I myself, am a very good cook and I still make little mistakes here and there. I'll give you a website that should help you --

Hey whats up,
Thats pretty simple. Listen, we all do mistakes, and if you've messed up in the kitchen once, then learn from your mistake and avoid it. Besides, making some eggs is not related with cooking at all. So don't worry, we all burn eggs.lol. But if you want to be able to cook, you could take up cooking courses , or ask for your mother's help, ask her to teach you and show you how things are done. You could also buy a couple of cooking books for starters and they would guide you on how to start off. And then by time, if you are really determined to learn and put all your efforts in cooking, then you'd probably become the perfect chef.It just takes time and effort, and you will mess up several times, but then you'll do just fine. Take care.
