crissx33 answered Saturday February 17 2007, 10:57 am: it depends. i kno that if you ate like 2 liters of soda a day and then you stop you will see some total loss. like my teacher was obsessed with pepsi. she stopped and lost like 5 pounds a week. so it depends how much you drank. but you can lose the weight but if you didnt drink much at all then you wont see that great of a loss. xO_b_r_i_a_n_a_Ox answered Saturday February 17 2007, 10:09 am: you might, but it depends how much. like if you used to drink like 2 sodas every day and lots of sweets you will deffinetly see a difference. but if you have them once in a while, you might not see a big difference in your weight, but you'll deffinetly be more healthy. if you're trying to lose weight, do that but also exercise as much as you can and don't have more than about 1500 calories a day.
spacefem answered Saturday February 17 2007, 10:05 am: well, it depends on how much of that stuff you eat/drink now, but if you drink sodas every day, then stopping will definitely make a difference in a few weeks. Not just in weight, but in overall health. Sodas have so much sugar, and the diet ones have all these chemicals, they're all horrible for you. I gave up sodas for track season my junior year because my coach told me to, and after the season was over I couldn't even drink them, I'd get sick because of all the crap in them. So at least do your best to avoid the sodas, even if you can't cut out all sweets. [ spacefem's advice column | Ask spacefem A Question ]
LagunaBabe answered Saturday February 17 2007, 9:56 am: Yes, this will make you lose weight. However, switching to Diet Soda can help you lose weight, in itself. The sweets are bad for you (lots of sugar, carbs, etc.), so I'm afraid I can't find a substitute for that. Here's a tip: You can eat just about (excluding sweets) whatever you want, as long as you eat it in small portions. Close your hand and make a fist, and however big your fist is, that's how big your portion should be. [ LagunaBabe's advice column | Ask LagunaBabe A Question ]
hco_babe answered Saturday February 17 2007, 9:35 am: yes! i cut out all sweets and sodas for good. peebles7 answered Saturday February 17 2007, 9:31 am: ok, I just read what the first person wrote, and it's true but not completely.
people think if you only eat fruits and vegetables that's healthy, but carbs are actually important.
eliminate sweets and soda, eat lots of vegetables, eat fruit too, but vegetables are more important, since fruit actually has lots of natural sugar in it, so focus more on vegetables.
and eat lean meats like chicken, turkey, fish because you really need protein. plus drink lots of milk and water.
and don't eliminate carbs, just eat them in moderation and always choose whole wheat. whole wheat bread, whole wheat bagels, whole wheat pasta, etc.
and don't drink diet soda, that's bad for you too [ peebles7's advice column | Ask peebles7 A Question ]
Lola answered Saturday February 17 2007, 4:31 am: Hey whats up?
Ya definitely , you would notice the loss of weight. But thats only if you cut down on all possible sweets and sodas and food containing carbohydrates , and eat only a healthy diet of vegetables and fruits. It would also take a while for you to lose weight, but yes you would notice a difference. [ Lola's advice column | Ask Lola A Question ]
