lotion on face?

Question Posted Wednesday February 14 2007, 4:06 pm

Can you put any type of lotion/body lotion, on your face? or is it just for the body? My face is really dry from using acne medicine a lot so I want to mosturize it but I get oily skin a lot and right after I wash my face too so I don't want it to get more oily

Aveeno or Clean and Clear has come out with a great oil-free moisturizer.

For some people it works, for others it just causes more irritation. I suggest curel lotion. it works on my face when i peel from acne meds. it doesn't make your skin oily either. <3

body lotions are loaded with chemicals and fragrances that will irritate your skin especially if youre already acne prone. ive put body lotion on my face a few times and it helped for a little while but in like 30 minutes was already peeling again. i use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion and i definintely recommend it. you can get it at like walmart or target. i put it on at night before bed and on any dry spots before i put on makeup and my face pretty much stays flake free all day.

well you really shouldn't use BODY lotion on your face. buy some face lotion, that would be better. because if you put body lotion or hand lotion on your face then it might cause you to break out because it isn't made for your face.

i recommend:

that stuff is AMAZING! i use it. and the best part is is that it is non-comedogenic (which means that it won't clog your pores...this is extremely important), and it is light and not greasy.

asbsolutely. depending on how sensitive your skin is though, you may not want to use any scented lotion on your face. (they sometimes irritate certain peoples skin) if you want to buy a lotion specifically for your face, go to bath and body works. =]

Yes, you can but very very little , and its better if you only put it on the driest places. Make sure it doesnt have fragrance, because that can irritate your face, especially because you have acne. I would suggest Eucerin, because its hypoallergenic, dermatologist recomended, fragrance free, and it doesnt make you feel greasy. Thats what I use.

peebles7 answered Wednesday February 14 2007, 4:27 pm:
i don't advise doing that. body lotion is very different, because faces are much more sensitive than the rest of the skin on your body. your face won't feel as good and could become irritated from different fragrances and chemicals in the lotion.
just go to the drugstore and get some oil-free face cream, like dove or olay, that will help a lot

well, you can, but you're right- it would make your face a little more oily.

i have the same problem, so i use clinique "dramatically different moisturising lotion". it works wonders & doesn't make your face oily. you'd probably have to go to a clinique place or a department store to get it.

hope i helped :]
