Question Posted Saturday February 10 2007, 6:10 pm
i recently got my period for the first time yesturday. im having really bad flows. like they are extremley heavy. i asked what i should do about it on here, and everyone said it should die down in a while but its not. if anything its heavier. im pretty much disgusted and dont want to use a pad anymore so im thinking about trying to get my fucking anyoying dad who i serouisly HATE at the moment out of the house, and ask my mom to go get me tampons because pads are WAY to much of a mess.
any good brands of tampons i should use?
and any advice on the whole period thing?
i serouisly hate this like its uncontrolable. EW.

Its kind of hard to give advice about someones period when it is there first period. This could be because its your first period and your hormones are changing. I know it sucks but wait it out. If this happens again next month, you might want to consider birth control because it will make your periods lighter. [ smokedank123's advice column | Ask smokedank123 A Question ]

They are rubber cups that you wear like tampons, but they don't cause TSS and they last about ten years. Flannel pads are very comfortable and healthy too.
Periods are almost always very heavy and uncomfortable for the first few times. They lighten when you get out of puberty.

I do recommend tampons cause they are so much more comfortable. I would highly recommend Tampax Pearls because they are 10x easier to use. I've used cardboards ones and I wasn't the least bit happy with them.
Be sure to keep up with your hygeine by showering everday especially since you're on your period. But like I said, your flow should die down in a little while. If your flow remains insanley heavy for several months you can talk to your doctor about birth control options, thats what my friend did. In the meantime, try to find something else to keep yourself busy.

for tampon brands there are many but it depends on cardboard or plastic i think cardboard is just messy and disguisting plastic is more comfy!!
