xxSAANxx answered Thursday February 8 2007, 6:43 pm: When someone is talking about driving a stick they mean a standard vechile. A standard is when you have to switch gears, instead of an automatic. With an automatic you don't have to switch the gears.
hope I helped. [ xxSAANxx's advice column | Ask xxSAANxx A Question ]
Sabine answered Thursday February 8 2007, 6:02 pm: 'Stick' means a car with a manual transmission. There's a little stick on either the floor or the steering column and you have to put it in first, second, third, gears, etc. You have to coordinate that with the clutch, which disengages the gears to allow them to safely go to the next higher set. Most cars are automatic trasmissions, which don't need to be shifted manually. So driving a stick is somewhat of a specialized skill.
