driving a stick

when someone says "how do you drive a stick?" what does that mean? i know it's related to cars lol but what kind?

yes its related to cars, they are talking about cars that use stick shift and they are usually very hard to drive, not a lot of people know how.

driving with a stick means using the stick shift.
instead of just puttingg it in drive and it changing gears on its own.
its like manual instead of automatic

When someone is talking about driving a stick they mean a standard vechile. A standard is when you have to switch gears, instead of an automatic. With an automatic you don't have to switch the gears.

'Stick' means a car with a manual transmission. There's a little stick on either the floor or the steering column and you have to put it in first, second, third, gears, etc. You have to coordinate that with the clutch, which disengages the gears to allow them to safely go to the next higher set. Most cars are automatic trasmissions, which don't need to be shifted manually. So driving a stick is somewhat of a specialized skill.
