berries

Question Posted Tuesday February 6 2007, 12:24 am

umm i have to read a newberry honor book. which one do you think is the best read for a 13 year old girl who likes like a little romance, humor, adventure, emotions, etc in a book? like just a good book basically, or i'll lose interest easy. i have to get it at the library tomorrow, for a literacy assignment. thankyou lots! it doesnt even have to be on this list. it just has to be a newberry honor book or a newberry award book.

these are some i found that i may like:

On the banks of Plum Creek
Ella Enchanted
The Cricket In Times Square
The Giver
Maniac Magee: A novel
Island Of the Blue Dolphins
Little house on the prairie
the view from saturday
the great gilly hopkins
joey pigza loses control
bud, not buddy
Holes
Charlotte's Web
The Summer of the Swans
The Westing Game

THANKYOU FOR YOUR TIME!

i've read all of those, and my favorites were the giver, island of the blue dolphins, the view from saturday, and the westing game. the view from saturday is probably my favorite. it's a really cute book and has a little bit of everything in it. besides that, it's a relatively quick read. if you lean more toward mystery, i'd recommend the westing game. it's also one of my favorites. happy reading!

Bud, Not Buddy is by the same author, so it must be good.. I think I read it before but I honestly don't remember :x
Maniac Magee

The Outsiders (No Newberry award, but still a good book)
Rumblefish (No award either)

The Giver by Lois Lowery is really intresting. its kind of Sci-Fi because its about the future but its soooo intresting like you dont get bored of it because everythings so new its like a different universe.

The Witch of BlackBid Pond By Elizabeth George Speare is a little romance. its historical fiction, a little boring but still a little intresting because everyone thinks the main character is a witch. its under 300 pages

Little House is good, and so is Charlotte's Web.

P.S. Though Charlotte's Web is a cute movie, the book is much better, as it tends to be with any book made into a movie.
