My best friend is mad at me

Question Posted Friday February 2 2007, 4:21 pm

I'm 15 yr old male. I had a best friend for about a year now. We got into an argument yesterday and he wont talk to me anymore. I tried talking to him, saying sorry, everything. Its only been 1 day though. He got mad because He thought one of my other friends knew more about me than what he does. And no because he knows the most about me. Today at lunch he wouldnt talk to me.. I'd do anything to get my best friend back
please help me ={

It's important right now that you do absolutely nothing at all but wait for him. You should not be saying sorry or admitting guilt when you aren't totally sure what exactly has set him off. If it's something trivial like "so, and so knows this and I don't" relax as he will come around as it's quite a silly thing to break a friendship over.

Trust me, let him come to you and be gentle in your responses to him if he's angry and do not let your anger if there is any come into it when he makes the approach. Don't add fuel to the fire then or for that matter right now. When you give him time to cool off and come to you it will put the flames right out and the friendship will be on stable ground again.

Well if he just won't listen, then I'd forget about it. You can't make him listen to you, but I would keep talking to him. Prove to him that the other kid doesn't know as much about you as he does. He shouldn't even be mad about that anyways. What a dumb reason to get mad.

Give him time to cool off. If he is your best friend, he will start talking to you again. He's just mad right now, and obviously feeling hurt. Let him have a few days to collect his thoughts and then try to talk to him.
