I am thirteen and just started giving advice here. Well now I have a question. I am addicted to cofee. I really like it and drink it with my Memaw. Is it bad for me to have it?

Anyways its bad for you and it also does have its benefits. Try to drink as little as possible. It can stunk your growth, stain your teeth, all while being really hyper because of the amount of coffee you drank. Coffee is considered a milk stimulant meaning it just mikes you more alert and awake. Also, it makes your heart beat faster and harder. Buut theres also good with drinking coffee because when you drink coffee you become more alert && less likely to commit suicide and less likely to suffer from cirrhosis of the liver. But you have to be the judge here judge for yourself on how much is safe you.

"Is coffee bad for you?
Question: When I told my parents and one of my good friends I had drank coffee that morning, they got on my case about drinking it. I never thought it had been a bad thing besides staining my teeth. I drinking the occasional frappachino since as long as I can remember. My drinking is not habitual at all. I was wondering, is coffee really that bad, that they feel they need to get on my case about it? I feel my parents are being a bit hypocritical since they drink coffee regularily as well.
Answer: Whether or not coffee (caffeine) is bad for you depends on whether how it affects you and whether you have other problems that make it inadvisable to consume it. Caffeine is known to cause the "jitters" (shaking) if you have enough of it. Some people are sensitive enough to it that even an early morning cup of coffee can make them jittery in the afternoon and keep them wide awake when they go to bed. Of course, caffeine has been used by college students forever to keep them alert when they need to study on little sleep. That's not a health problem as long as it's not done night after night for an indefinite period of time. Loss of sleep can reduce your immune response and make you susceptible to infection. People with stomach or esophagus problems such as ulcers or inflammation should probably avoid coffee -- even the decaffeinated variety can exacerbate the GI tract because of the acid it contains. Caffeine can make your heart race, but if it's within normal limits (not exceeding 100 beats per minute unless you're exercising), then that's not a problem. Caffeine does not seem to increase blood pressure except in people who already have high blood pressure. Caffeine should probably not be used except in small amounts, when a woman is pregnant. Follow the doctor's advice in such cases. If caffeine doesn't cause or exacerbate any of the problems I've discussed, then there really isn't much of a case for being concerned about using it. Researchers have long tried to pin something on caffeine -- high blood pressure and other signs of heart disease and a variety of cancers. Those endeavors have not been successful. So if you like your daily frappacino, then go for it.
xxguccibebe answered Friday February 2 2007, 10:46 am: drinking coffee is not bad at all ; as long as you do not drink it too too often.because my mother had drank coffee since she was your age and she has stained teeth from it,so therefore if your going to drink coffee then just make sure you have something to keep your teeth from staining such as crest white strips, whiting toothpaste or even take half baking soda half salt and brush your teeth with that after you brush with toothpaste.if you do one of those then you should be perfectly fine drinking coffee. But instead of drinking coffee, maybe try drinking water/propel, or something else, because coffee isn't always good for you. [ xcheerbabex108's advice column | Ask xcheerbabex108 A Question ]
caramella answered Friday February 2 2007, 8:09 am: yes it is because cofee has caffeine in it and caffeine is as harmful as some drugs.Once you start gettin used to cofee you want be able to stop, its like an addiction.Whats bad about it is caffeine keeps you awake and alert for a while and one cup of cofee has like 100mg of caffeine.I read on this article that a little amount of caffeine makes your heart beat slow and if you take alot of caffeine itll make your heart beat abnormally fast. And if you get used to drinking several cups of cofee a day and you stop for a day, youll get a bad headache or feel dizzy cuz your body will have gotten used to it.So the best thing you should do is lower the amount of cofee you drink bit by bit, like if you drink 2 cups a day, drink one and bit by bit youll stop. You can have coffe but little amounts so it dont harm you.hope i helped you:) [ caramella's advice column | Ask caramella A Question ]
