Question Posted Saturday January 27 2007, 12:31 pm
Ok so.. my boobs have gotten smaller. It sucks. I've always been thin. I'm about 5'6 105 lbs., or something around there. I don't think i really lost any weight though, and nothing else seems to have gotten smaller. I also don't get my periods regularly. I got the first one about 3 1/2 years ago, so they should be regular by now. They skip months and always come at different times of the month. I just finished a period, but it had been the first one in a few months. I'm thinking maybe this has something to with my boobs shrinking? Help! Anyone know what's going on. I want my boobs back.

You have to go to a gyno...I don't want you to be misdiagnosed, none of us on here are doctors, unfortunately..
Brandi_S answered Sunday January 28 2007, 1:25 pm: It could be hormonal. I would suggest going in for a pap/pelvic exam and a physical. Your doctor will be able to tell you what's going on with your body. They shouldn't just shrink like that, as far as I am aware. [ Brandi_S's advice column | Ask Brandi_S A Question ]
Sabine answered Saturday January 27 2007, 7:26 pm: I agree with the first person. You are underweight. Your BMI is less than 18. In order to be in the 'normal'category, you should weigh about 115 lb. This is probably why your periods are irregular and why your breasts are shrinking. You could be gaining height and therefore getting a little thinner and losing weight in your chest. Don't forget, your skeleton isn't complete until you're about 18 years old for females and 20-22 for males. Good luck gaining weight and getting your boobs back. If it doesn't work, you can always get the padded, push-up bras and still look very feminine.

Addition: In the feedback, you asked about hormones. Yes, this could be a result of hormone problems, but likely that all still leads back to your weight. You see, estrogen is stored in fat cells. If you don't have enough body fat, your estrogen levels will fluctuate and can be too low to maintain sexual characteristics such as the hourglass figure and menstrual cycles. If you're worried, see a doctor. Thanks for the feedback. [ Sabine's advice column | Ask Sabine A Question ]

Well, there is nothing to worry about. It all depends on how old you are, if you are a young teenager, then you body hasn't fully grown up yet, so there is always a chance of your boby changeing alot, so don't worry! If you are an old teenager, then i would egnore it, some adults' body's change as well, ur breasts can get smaller or biger. One thing you must know and fully understand is NOT TO WORRY!!
askkatie answered Saturday January 27 2007, 3:34 pm: Thinner people tend to have smaller breasts. Since they are made of fat mainly of course they will get smaller as you lose weight.
Try gaining weight to get them back, it sounds like you couldn't hurt to gain ten or fifteen pounds anyway!
And about your periods being irregular, this is normal. I've been on mine for around the same number of years and mine still skip, end way to early, or start at different times of the month. It has to do with the amount of excersise, things you eat and various stuff like that.
They probably have nothing related to each other, but if you are really worried it might make you feel better to go see your docter.
I hope this helped!
