baking soda and water?

Question Posted Friday January 19 2007, 9:36 pm

earlier people on here were telling me that if you mix baking soda and water together then put it on your face is will dry up your pimples. Does this really work?

and someone also said putting alcohol on them will make them go away.

Baking soda and water worked once for me. After one time, it just stopped working. Trying alcohol, it dries out your skin a lot. But, my best friend uses it and it kills her every night to do it, because it stings so badly, but it dries them up. But every person who uses either one of these will have a different reaction.

the first thing.. could work but there's always a chance to get more acne.
I know some people that swear by it. It seems to work but maybe not for everyone.

You could put alcohol on it but it dries out your skin like hell. It also burns and makes your face red [acne as well]
i wouldn't try it. It makes your skin worse.

I might have been the one to tell you that. Baking soda and water definitely works, I've used it myself, and it got rid of a bad zit in one night. It shouldn't be harmfull for delicate skin. I've never used rubbing alcohol, but that should work. Yes, both of them will dry out your skin, but that's the point; that's what gets rid of the zits. Most people have hydrogen peroxide lying around, and that will work better than alcohol, without drying your skin.

do not put any kind of alcohol on pimples. it dries up your skin and ruins your skin, BIG TIME. if anything it will make the pimples worse. my skin doctors tell me this all of the time. about the baking soda and water, it will dry up your pimples but it will just cause you more pimples so there's really no point. if you want to get rid of pimples try proactiv. it works like magic. i used to have pimples all over and now i have none :]

good luck [:
