The link between alcohol use and risky sexual behaviour.
Hi all. I'm soon to be interviewed regarding the link between drinking a lot, and taking sexual risks. This might mean going further than you wanted/planned, not using protection, etc - but only while you've been drinking.
My interview is going to be specifically about teenagers, so I thought I would ask the younger people on here for their input. Do you think there is a link? How strong do you think it is?

Well I know that alcohol doesn't make you just have sex or cheat
You can control if you have sex or not.
Its just like drunken words are sober thoughts.
so its pretty much like they really want the person in their mind but they don't want to feel that way for some certain reasons but really you can control it 100% completely.

Deffinitly, I think drinking effects anything a teenager would do. Sexually, or anything else. I say nobody can be blamed for what they do when they are intoxicated with anything. Alcohol, or drugs. It's all the same. But most of the things teens do while under the infulence they wouldn't do if they weren't. HOPE I HELPED!

against common belief, i don't really think there is a strong link between the two. there might be some, though. A lot of people i know drink and get people drunk to do things... not just spur of the moment and often times "i was drunk" is just an excuse. some people take a shot and say they are "so drunk" and do somthing they can't do regularly. Everyone i've ever drank with can tell you they've never done anything sexual because they were drinking so that's just what i see. <3

There is a link. Alcohol takes a tole on everyone's brains and our senses/judgements/thinking process gets all screwed up. And if a girl and a guy is both drunk, one may just want to lead the other on but the other being drunk might want to persue it more and soon become a rape case. Or when one or both are drunk they won't be able to think cleary and just have sex without thinking about it. Sure they may use protection but when you're drunk, most likely you'll forget.

I think that there really is a link between drinking a lot and sexual experimentation. Drinking loosens your body and mind up, so to speak. So, you do things that you want to do, but on a normal day you never would. You "indulge" in pleasure. I think it is a very strong link. That's why when you're drinking and with a group of friends you should be careful about how much you drink. Hope I helped!

Personally, I do think that there is a link between alchol & sexual behavior. Most teenagers can't control themselves when they are drinking and they do end up doing sexual things. I also don't think that alchol should be an excuse why people still end up doing such things.
