hey, you say your good at singing. if you want to ever pursue a carrer in the singing field then you definately need to put yourself out there. you shouldnt be afraid to show what you can do. thats just a waste of talent. if your not going to go out there and give it your all then just forget it. dont even bother being in the pagent becaues you will just end up making a fool of yourself. also talent isnt the only important part of a pagent.

You could do a song and dance routine, such as a piece from something like a Broadway musical. But you said you don't want to sing.

Maybe you can try to do a skit, or some other sort of acting. It don't have to be dramatic acting. Try something comedic.

all of the following advice is coming from someone currently in a pageant:

1. you need a talent? if you don't immediately think of one you really know well you probably shouldn't enter the pageant. when I heard the announcement I thought "gee. here is a chance for me to play handbells after taking lessons for 8 years. I can try it solo! woohoo!" and so I signed up. I honestly don't plan on winning, but I'm excited to play in competition.

2. pageants are not just talent. depending on the pageant you may have to model or dance or interview or do all of those. the one I'm in has me dancing in 4 different group dances and one couple dance. I work my ass off to learn everything because I'm NOT a dancer. as for interviewing, that was included and judged in my audition. you need to have an edge that makes you completely different than any other girl. in my interview I was asked what ice cream I'd be if I was one and I said rice dream mint carob chip because I'm lactose intolerant. I also explained that the ice cream was completely allergy free and my goal in life is to make myself as perfect at communicating and being a good person to others as possible so that no one had a reason to dislike me. find out what else is involved in the pageant and realistically ask yourself if you can even do those things.

3. don't focus on winning. judges don't like it. they're looking for a humble person who'll become a leader later on NOT a pompous jack-ass.

4. be friendly. it goes a long way.
