Question Posted Wednesday January 10 2007, 3:40 pm
During lunch, I sit with one of my best friends. She's nice, but when she eats, I can see every since crumb of food in her mouth in mushed up form, and she talks while she is at it too. I can't help but want to stop being friends with her for this. One time food even spit out of her mouth onto me! She doesn't even realize how vulgar I feel watching this! It's hard to ignore when she sits right infront of me. What is a nice way to approach her about this?

I don't want this to come out the wrong way or sound mean because i don't mean in it that way at all. But its just been bothering me so I'd thought i'd tell you and maybe you could fix it...but...when you eat its kinda gross to watch. And again, not to sound mean or a jerk but can you chew with you mouth closed and try and not to talk with food in your mouth or at least cover your mouth?? Thanks
amanda_bear answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 6:32 pm: I used to chew with my mouth open too. And then my mom told me that i needed to chew with my mouth closed and it was really embarrasing so I stopped. Just tell her in a nice way. And it will help her in the long run. even if she gets mad at you for the time being she will eventually come around and she will see that all you were trying to do was help her. I hope that i helped.=) [ amanda_bear's advice column | Ask amanda_bear A Question ]

"You need to close your mouth and stop talking while you are eating" and just laugh or something. dont say it in a way she is embarrased. [ sognarxo's advice column | Ask sognarxo A Question ]
