I joined www.multiply.com.You need an invitation to join.When I joined I had no idea what the site was about.I used my real name.Am I in trouble?There was no option to change my name.If there was,I could not find it.I did not realize people could see my name.My last name is pretty rare.What should I do?Why shouldn't you give your real name online?

Anything you post with your real name is attached to you forever. If your name is very unusual, then one can also probably obtain your address, phone number, and vital statistics by punching it into a search engine. Essentially, it sets you up for such things as spam, identity theft, harassment by those who disagree with you, that kind of thing. You could have no problem whatsoever... but it's best not to take a chance.
