Birth Control

Question Posted Tuesday January 2 2007, 10:57 am

Hey everyone. I've decided I'm ready to have sex; however, the guy I desire to do it with doesn't want to use a condom and he wants me to go on birth control.

1. Can I get birth control at 16 without my parents knowing?
2. If I was put on birth control and we had sex without condoms and he ejaculated inside of me...is it at all possible to get pregnant?
3. Is it possible to get pregnant from swallowing sperm?
4. Do condoms protect against STDs?

Wow. Well, either way you should use two methods of contraception. The pill does not completely prevent you from getting pregnant. So, without a condom, you`re putting yourself more at risk just being on the birth control pill. Maybe you should tell this guy that, and ask him if he`s ready to be a dad, if he says no, then tell him he needs to use a condom.

1. Yes, you can get the birth control pill without your parents knowing. I suggest you do this by going to like a Planned Parenthood. If you go to your regular doctor, the pill will show up on your insurance & they would find out.
2. Yes, it is VERY possible.
3. No, you can not get pregnant from swallowing sperm.
4. Yes. =]

now coming from a lad some of these answers might not help but i tried my best
1. i wouldn't no because i'v never tried :P
2.yes there is no such thing as safe sex there's just SAFER sex & a comdom is the best method to rely on because the pill only thickens the mucas in the vagina to make it difficult for the sperm to get through so i would advise refusing to have sex without the comdom
3.no impossible because your stomache would digest the sperm but i'v heard that its gd 4 you tho (don't ask me y)
4.yes that is one of the only protections against them

1. Yes, you can get the pill without your parents knowing.
2. Nothing is 100% guanteed, so their is still a chance that you could. But the only perfect way so that you know that you won't get pregnant is absinence.
3. No it is absolutly not possible to get pregnant from swollowing sperm.
4. Yes condoms do, but again nothing is guanteed. Condoms only provide some extra protection.

Both people in a sexual relationship should take responsibility for protecting themselves and each other. If this boy doesn't want to use a condom with you, he might not have used one with someone else - and that means he could have an STD. Many STDs have no noticeable symptoms, especially in boys, so there would be no way of knowing if he was clean or not.

Also, why isn't he more concerned about helping protect you from an unwanted pregnancy? The safest sort of sex is using a condom plus another form of birth control - the pill, the shot, etc.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to get birth control without your parents' knowledge. As I don't know where you're at, your best option might be to try a local clinic which will be able to advise you of your options. Be sure to ask them about their policy on confidentiality if you are concerned.

It is possible to get pregnant if you are on birth control. Here's some effectiveness rates of various birth controls - note this is only if taken absolutlely correctly, with no margin for mistakes:

combined pill - 99% effective
progeesterone only pill - 99%
contraceptive injection - 99%
implant - 99%

While these numbers sound good, is this something you want to take a chance on?

You cannot get pregnant from swallowing sperm. You can get pregnany anytime semen, which contains sperm, enters your vagina. This includes BEFORE the boy cums.

Condoms do protect against STDs. Again, they aren't 100%, but they significantly decrease the chances of you contracting (or spreading) an infection.

Best of luck.

in order heres my advice:
1. i know there is a privacy thing between a doctor and patient that they can't tell your parents...but i don't know if that applies with birth contrl
2. yes it is...birth control just regulates your periods, but if you know when your periods are coming...but still. no method of protection is 100% safe
3. no it isn't possible
4. condoms are not 100% safe, so yes you could still contract an STD no matter what form of protection you use

hope i helped

Igotamonopoly answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 12:04 pm:
1) That depends on your state.
2) Yes. Nothing is 100% effective; that is why you are supposed to use two different kinds of birth control.
3) Not really, but you can get STDs.
4) They are 98% effective.

You REALLY aren't ready for sex. I suggest reading up on birth control and the risks of sex.

Alin75 answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 12:00 pm:
1. not sure but i think so
2. yes but its unlikely, I believe the pill has somewhere between 95-99% effectiveness
3. not at all
4. yes
Nr 4 is the real important one in the equation. Condoms are extremely effective at protecting against STDs.

If I were you I would not agree to this. Even if the risk of getting something is small, it can ruin the rest of your life. Also keep in mind that someone who asks you to do it without protection may have done it unprotected before. That means that he may have already exposed himself to something. Its simply a bad idea.

Hmm well to start Im curious to know why he doesnt want to use a condom! He definitely should use one!!! Condoms are the best way to protect against std's. but there not 100%. Its not possible to get pregnant from swallowing sperm. But if sperm has contact with your private area it is possible. Also the pill is not 100% effective. it is one of the best ways to prevent pregnancy but the pill plus a condom is a great way to be safe!
If you can go to plan parent hood you may be able to get birth control pills but some places require you to be 18. Talk to a nurse about all of these questions before you have sex! Its very important to know the facts ok! If you need anything else let me know.
