I have a cousin who's 15. Her birthday is coming up and she loves to read. She's into fantasy books, adventure and romance type books. Is there any books or series you would recomend. PLEASE help! I have absolutely no clue what to get her.
MissBonne answered Monday January 1 2007, 10:14 am: Oh, everyone already mentioned good ones
His Dark Materials, by Phillip Pullman (not so much romance, but fantasy/adventure)
Tamora Pierce is great! The Alanna series is wonderful (fantasy, adventure and romance geared towards a young adult)
Sharon Shinn has an angel series which I absolutely enjoy. Fantasy, adventure and romance but its a little bit older reading than Tamora Pierce.
Jenny Lykins has a time travel romance which is also fun. [ MissBonne's advice column | Ask MissBonne A Question ]
WiseOldUnicorn answered Monday January 1 2007, 2:40 am: I would say Harry Potter, but that's obvious and she's probably already read it. Try picking up some books by Tamora Pierce. The first book of her Tortall series is Alanna: The First Adventure, which is a series I highly recommend for any young girl that likes to read. You could also get her the Princess Diaries, if she hasn't read those already. [ WiseOldUnicorn's advice column | Ask WiseOldUnicorn A Question ]
HOPLESSxROMNTC answered Monday January 1 2007, 2:06 am: My step brother is really into magical fantasy type books also.
He read that whole Eragon series and the Harry Potter series.
jediforhire answered Monday January 1 2007, 12:27 am: i really like the series by Phillip Pullman called "his dark materials" (its fantasy by the way)
the first book of the series is "the golden compass", then "the subtle knife" and i forget the last one...but they were really good!

Sherry answered Monday January 1 2007, 12:19 am: Romance Novels - Author Nicholas Sparks books are definatley romantic, his books "the Notebook" and "Message in a bottle" were made into movies.
Fantasy/Adventure - Harry Potter
I also suggest a Barnes & Noble gift card, or Borders gift card. That way she can get whatever book she wants and you know she'll like it because she picked it out :] [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
