okay so who cares if people at school notice? if you like it and think you look hot...who cares how drastic it was? i dont think anyone is going to make THAT big of a deal out of your eyebrows, I think the most they would say is you look different or you look great! now...what the procedure is may depend on where you go, but for the most part you go in, if they are courteous they will ask what you want done. You can get the stray hairs waxed off or you can get them pencil thin or anything! When I got mine done for the first time, I simply said I wanted them arched. but I would specify that you want it to be subtle but you want them arched. I eventually stopped going because they didnt make them skinny enough so now I do my own but thats not important :) Hope I helped!

i first stared getting my eyebrows waxed in sixth grade. [Im in 9th now] and the first time i did it it was totally random. i went with my mom to get hers done and they asked me and my friend if we wanted ours done and i said yes. when i went into school i got a bunch of compliments. it really does make a difference, a positive one too! so just do it. just get her alone, take a deep breath and say "mom will you take me to get my eyebrows done" and cross your fingers super tight and hope for the best :] hope i helped

I'd say something to your mom like what Holldior suggested. Say something like, "Mom, since I've never really taken care of my eyebrows before, I was wondering if we could go to a salon and have them shaped so I know how to do it right." Getting your eyebrows waxed isn't as a big of a deal as you might think... I remember freaking out about it in middle school too and not wanting to ask my mom. :) It's good to have a professional show you the ropes the first time too, I've seen many eyebrow disasters before. :) One girl shaved her's off completely in 7th grade!

Anyhow... it's good to have your eyebrows groomed, and you're right, you want it to look natural, not overdone. The person at the salon will generally know how to do it properly and for your face type. I would just clarify with them before hand that you want them looking very natural and not too thin or over-shaped. If you want to, you could even clip out a magazine picture of someone whose eyebrows you like. May seem weird, but better safe then sorry, right? Just remember, if you have larger facial features, you want your eyebrows larger to be proportional with them. (And same for smaller features.) Good luck! :)

Just say something along the lines of, "Mom, what do you think about me getting my eyebrows done? I'd like to get them done because I don't want to mess them up doing it myself" Then you can ask her to go with you or something, it could be a mother-daughter thing since it's your first time.

When you get them done, they'll simply just ask how you'd like them. When you're with the girl, tell her that you just want them cleaned up. Nothing but, just to clean them up. When you say that, she'll just take the strays off so they look nice. She'll also shorten the hairs.

your mom will not think its weird.. the only way she would think something was weird is if you had a unibrow and wanted to keep it. anyway, if people do notice it, it will be a good change. they won't make fun of you or anything, they will probably complement you. you don't pick out any shapes, they just wax around your eyebrow to take off the extra hairs. hope i helped :)

Why would she think it's weird?

Anyway, all they do is clean up stray hair along the edges.

There shouldn't be pre-chosen shapes; I've never seen or heard of a place that has them.

They
1. Wax

That's it.
