When I shave my armpits, it usually gets red and irritated and theres sometimes a couple of hard bunps. I use the same shaving cream and razor that I use on my legs, and my legs come out fine. Why is this happening? What should I do different when I shave my armpits? Thanks 13/f

But if this is not an option then maybe you should try to rub crisco all over your torso so that you can make yummy cookies in thshower. Teh heat should make the cookies rise unless you take cold showers then you can consider yourself a lesbian and you should think about cutting your barbie's hair off and making out with it. soon you will realize your love of women and become a transvestite hooker that doesn't shave.
divapup6 answered Friday December 29 2006, 4:48 pm: if its an irritation make sure to put baby powder on it when you are finnished shaving
also, if it gets worse, notify a parent or doctor because you might have an elergic reaction
but i wouldnt worry bout it too much
i hope that this helps [ divapup6's advice column | Ask divapup6 A Question ]

runawayxlove answered Friday December 29 2006, 2:50 pm: hey, they sell special shaving cream for sensitive skin. its by the skintimate brand. its a pink bottle and its says sensitive skin. get some of that and use a venus razor. be careful when your shaving because your armpits are way more sensitive then your legs =]. musicman answered Friday December 29 2006, 2:15 pm: I'm a guy, but the same thing can happen to men's necks...
my advice is this...
First, you are better off with a separate razor for your armpits, your leg hair is much coarser than the hair under your arms, the blade dulls quick, and it will irritate the skin under your arms easily. have two blades, one for your legs, one for under your arms
Also, using shaving cream is a no-no... too many chemicals, this is probably the biggest problem just use lotion, or baby oil.
The last thing.....water temp.
warm water opens your pores, cool water keeps them closed, you might want to try using cool, or cold water, while shaving, and especially when rinsing,
I know this is tough if you are in the shower, but using the shaving cream with hot water, is just opening your pores, and letting in all those chemicals, there's sensitive nodes under your arms
it's easy to irritate...
shave your pits after the shower at the sink with cold water!
these things have worked for me for a long time...
duudee_advicer answered Friday December 29 2006, 2:06 pm: Sounds like you've got some pretty
sensitive skin. I've picked up a trick
thats really reduced the amount of
bumps I get in my underarms.
Make sure the area is really wet.
Then use soap (Dove, etc) and lather
up the area. Then use your razor and
shave DOWN first. Do this once or
twice then take your razor and shave
upward.
This should irritate the skin less
and leave you with a closer shave.
