Weight

Question Posted Wednesday December 27 2006, 1:26 pm

How can I get my weight back down. I am at about 193 now. I was a laxative abuser and purger. When I was doing that, I got down to my low 160's from 220 pounds.. Now that I quit using laxatives and purging, my weight's been comeing back up. And it's really hard to diet to lose the weight now? Anyone have any clues?

don't use laxatives and dont purge. not only is it extremely unhealthy, but, as you can see, you'll just gain the weight right back. you should do an exercise/diet plan where the weight will come off & stay off. it might not be as fast as youd like, but it would be the most healthy way. it's really a change of life-style, not just diet. don't do any crash-dieting or fad diets - they may work for a short period of time, but once you stop it, the weight will come right back on and you may end up weighing even more.

my suggestion is change your eating habits and make youre getting at LEAST 60 minutes of exercise a day. it doesnt have to be running or anything that's too strenuous. go to the gym. you dont have to lift weights - elliptical machines are easy and effective.

start slow. gradually get stricter with your diet. its always hard to change a habit. dont eat a ton of carbs, limit yourself but dont block them out compeltey. EAT PROTEIN - it'll stay with you longer. watch calories; dont eat after 8:00. have 5 small meals a day.

if you need anymore help, you can drop one in my inboxxx :)

ok, if your worried about your weight, first i would suggest talking to your doctor of perhapd your school nurse or personal fitness teacher (if your in school). from what i know, dont do anything drastic like purging of the fasting diets.
first, eat more healthy, less white prosecced bread, more of the whole grain kind, try to cut down on prosessed packeged foods that are laden with fats and carbs. eat a more vegetable and fruit rich diet with good meats like chicken or fish.
if you still feel hungry inbetween meals, eat something like an apple, or a healthy granola bar.
another key thing is exersice. start with walking about 30 minutes a day at a pace that feels comfortable, gradually work your way up to maybe an hour.
again, consult a doctor, dont be radical, and dont lose hope, you wont instantly shed weight. also, be who you are and dont let anyone change that.
good luck

There is only 1 way to lose weight and stay healthy-diet & exercise. Given your history, I think it's a good idea to consult your doctor. As for me, I gained 50 lbs with my pregnancy and was desperate to lose the weight. I limited my caloric and fat intake (no fried foods, very little red meatm smaller portions, only baked snack foods and whole grain breads), drank an gallon of water everyday (no soda or juice), ate plenty of fruit & raw veggies and exercised for an hour a day. Nothing crazy, just a 30 minute walk with my dogs and 30 minutes of very basic exercises with light weights. It took a few months, but I finally got there and was able to keep the weight off until my next pregnancy. I know the gallon of water sounds crazy, you have to work yourself up to that point. You should also make sure you're taking a multi-vitamin. This is a far better plan than the fad diets because you're not really giving up the foods you love, you're just eating less of them. Hope this helps!

hey, well your weight that you should be at depends on your height. if your 5`0 you should be 100 pounds. everytime you go up in height you should add 5 pounds. like 5`1 = 105, 5`2 = 110, 5`3 = 115, 5`4 = 120, and so on. thats what my doctor told me. i think you should eat what you want as long as its heathly, but just eat smaller portions. also tone yourself up a little bit. like do situps and pushups. good luck.
