i am half puerto rican half irish
and my dad's side of the family doesnt
aprove of mixxed relationships and i have always dated black guys there is nothing you can do about the way you feel if they relle loved u they would understand and they would just care about how he treats you not how he looks when they ask you why you mixx races you say ''why not?'' you dont have to explain yourself to people all they have to know is that you have feelings for the person my dad is getting better with me and my sister about dating other then white guys soo chances are your people will too [ L0CACiiTA's advice column | Ask L0CACiiTA A Question ]

Anyways, you're right. It is your life, so why do they care? Although they shouldn't, they do because they're ignorant. They've probably got nothing better to do than to give you shit about who you like.
You can never tell racist people that everyone is the same because knowing them, they'll come up with things to prove to you that they're not.
But anyways, if people have something to say to you about it, tell them to fuck themselves. If they don't like it, too bad. It's your life & you're not changing it so they can be happy. :]

Hold your head high, no matter what they say. It isn't their place to say anything at all, since by all accounts there's no reason to dislike your boyfriends. I could see them saying something about abuse if he was abusive, but not about skin colour.
You don't owe them any sort of explanation, so if you don't feel like giving one, you don't have to. But if you do, tell them simply and concisely how you feel--that you see people for the good in them, and that's that.
gnosticjewls answered Friday December 8 2006, 9:59 am: Okay, first of all, I agree with you about people being the same, and I feel it is natural to be with ANYONE you wish. For the people calling you a "nigger lover", that is just rude and disgusting. They obvious know how you feel about race and just to say something like that is disrespectful and demeaning to your feelings. I would have nothing to say to those people, as I would not care about their opinion or concerns. Now, if you have someone that is understanding and just has a real concern or question about your choices, without judging or labelling you, then I would explain to them that you enjoy being around all people and that color doesn't determine the character of people. Tell them that you feel strongly about your choices and that you see everyone as "Human" not White, Black, Spanish, etc. [ gnosticjewls's advice column | Ask gnosticjewls A Question ]

You really can't change what they think it their choice but you can tell them and if they don't think the same then forget them and do what you wanna do!
