MelLeDisko answered Wednesday December 6 2006, 4:15 pm: There's nothing really WRONG with saying what the fuck, well I guess there, it's just some peopel find it a bad word and they don't say it, nor do they want to hear it. Your friend just may be one of these people, and you should repsect her wishes and try your best and refrain from using those words around her, and use what the heck instead. If it's not working out all too well at first, its' alright, just let her know you're trying, at least.
I guess she's trying to be a good friend, if you want to call it that. She's not being a bad friend, that's not what I mean, but I guess she might be trying to instill some nicer words for you to use so you don't have such a "dirty mouth". I'm sure she's not trying to be mean by this, so take nothing offensively ; its just those words to her may be bad and she doesn't want to hear them.
geegollyHOLLY answered Wednesday December 6 2006, 12:57 pm: Well, there could be something going on at their house or with a friend and it bugs them hearing that word, knowing what the impression is giving. whenever someone is saying wtf, it implies that their mad. so you can say it with anyone else, just don't use it with that one person. Hope I helped! [ geegollyHOLLY's advice column | Ask geegollyHOLLY A Question ]

The only time I say WTF is when like someone will say something funny & i'll be like laughing, yano what I mean? or.. when I'm mad. & it didn't sound like you were laughing about that thing or whatever. you sounded made. Just don't say that around her, because she obviously doesn't like it. She can't really understand why your saying it in the first place, & i dont think she thinks its a nice word either. I think she is being a good friend to you, because shes trying to keep you from not swearing & stuff. [ holahayley56's advice column | Ask holahayley56 A Question ]
Damian answered Wednesday December 6 2006, 5:43 am: She's saying that you can give the impression that you're angry or overexcited when you use WTF. You might not have the intention to communicate that kind of emotion, but the words that you are using carry that message.
I'm with your friend on this one. She's not trying to CONTROL you. As a true friend, she's telling you these things because they will help you. Sort of like when you're at a fancy dinner, and your friend whispers to you that you have spinach stuck in your teeth.
You seem a little passive-aggressive in just this small snippet of a conversation. Try to tone things down a bit. Be open to what others have to say. Surprisingly, some of them can actually give you some great insight. Plus, it makes things easier on everyone. I'm sure you'll do fine.
