I am in the musical Annie, for my school. I have recieved the large part of Grace Farell. As you know, she has one important song to sing; I Think Im Gonna Like It Here.
I love singing, and acting, but i have a problem with nerves before shows.
What are ways to bring those down [ and i mean my nerves go insane! ]?

Practice in front of a bunch of people to calm your nerves so you wont be as nervous in front of people. When you're actually doing the show and you have your lines memorized and have rehearsed it over and over, you probably won't even notice that the audience is there. (especially since the bright lights are shining on you, which makes it hard to see the audience. LOL.) Just believe in yourself and you can do it. partyanimal answered Monday November 20 2006, 7:41 pm: one way to calm your nerves down is to meditate before the show, convince yourself that you won't see the people in the audience. you can also pretend like nobodys there, or that everybodys in there underwear, and that they all look more ridiculous then if you tripped onstage. concentrate on your script, good luck, and hopefully i helped.

The only way to get over your fear and stop having these nerves is to just do it. When you're on stage, forget everything else. Focus on your lines. Pretend no one is there watching. Believe me it works. Before you go on stage you can also try meditation to calm yourself. The most important thing is to have CONFIDENCE in yourself and believe that you can do this.
Good luck =]
kchafin answered Monday November 20 2006, 7:31 pm: Well my stomach used to get way messed up before i would perform. If you get nauseous then ask your DR about an RX called Levsin. They give it to patients that have stomach viruses and such. It might make you sleepy so if you get this try it way before the show so that you can see how it affects you. Also do breathing techniques. Try to start meditation or Yoga these exercises help you to train yourself to stay calm.
