depression medication
hello, well i have very serve anxiety disorder to the point where i need anxiety medication aka depression medication....i wanted to know what are the side effects and is it ok to drink alchol on them...im pretty young 16 and im very little 5'2 100 pounds....if that makes a difference....im not sure what medication im getting but i heard the side effects are all pretty much the same

i'm just gonna give you a website-
www.webmd.com you can look up medicatins there they have an A-Z guide that includes side effects and all that good stuff. Plus you're a very small person (as am i) so medicines at a "normal" dose for you could have adverse or even more severe effects that it would on an average sized person.
Remember each medication is different and can affect each person differently.
PS if you are already depressed you should really limit your alcohol intake. :)

ok 1st of no one takes alchol with depression meds thats just plain wack do you want to kill your self?
and 2nd duude ur not 100 pounds so stop lying if you were 100 pounds you wouldnt put ... and youd be more confident about it sweety im 100 pounds and yet i dont put .. or any shit like that because im confident of how much i way and my limits it irrtates me when people lie about their weight kinny or fat

Hello, I have a lot of experience with this. Not myself, personally, but my mother has depression.
You need to go to a doctor, and let your doctor tell you what type of medicine you need. Don't worry, he/she will know and evalute your depression, and it will be fine.
But make sure never to drink alcohol, you cannot drink when you have depression because it makes the depression worse. By taking your medicine and drinking on top of it, it puts you in very much danger, you can even die from doing this. So please, do not do it.

You should probably avoid alcohol because you're 16, not because you're on depression medication, but it'd be a good idea to talk with your doctor or pharmacist because different medications have different interactions. One thing I do know is that many depression medications will flat out kill you if mixed with certain drugs, like ecstacy, so be careful. Drugs are bad no matter who you are but they're worse if you're taking depressions meds.

It is not a good idea to mix any medication with alcohol. I would suggest that you discuss your concerns with the person prescribing your medication. They will be in a better position to advise you on this matter.
