I don't suggest proactiv. I used it for like 4 years, and although it worked for like a year, that was when I was younger and my skin wasn't bad at all. It made my face red, oily, and it didn't really work at all. Some people it does work on though, everyone's different, some stuff works for some, some for others. It's good you're tackling it before it gets horrible. Right now, I use some kind of Cetaphil stuff (I don't think that's spelled right.) and it works wonders, my face is starting to look really good. Also, if you go on Clearasil.com, they have a little test you can take about your skin and it'll prescribe products that you can buy in store that should work for you. I did that and I found something that actually worked, but I switched cause it had me doing like 4 different things and I got annoyed because I'm impatient. As for the oily face in the middle of the day, you can try bringing maybe a mini bottle of face soap with you to school and washing your face in the middle of the day, or just wiping it with a soft tissue. I have the same problem, and if I feel greasy, I'll just wipe my face on my sweatshirt. If you wear make up, make sure it's oil free and made of mostly water. Also, I think it's neutrogena that makes little cloth things that you can wipe your face on. The oily skin may be causing the pimples too!

Don't worry, there are so many products to help you with your skin, I have some of the same problems.
Try Clear & Clear Oil Reducing Strips, its really easy to use and it really makes your face look so much cleaner and not as sweaty/oily. And as for Proactiv it works okay for me, but I got alot better results with Benzaclin and Differin. But either of them would be good.
Hope this helps.

I also have oily skin and use neutrogena products. They seem to work for me, but I don't have acne. Proactive works really well if nothing else will. As for your oily face problem, you could try to wear a loose powder on your face, I would reccommend bare minerals. To avoid having really bad breakouts, you should try to stay away from super fatty greasy foods, and caffeine. You could be breaking out from stress, so you might want to get that under control. Just a few ideas, I really hope they helped. Good luck. -Angel

Pro-Activ really works and you should try it. I use Pro-Activ, my cousin uses Pro-Activ, my friends use Pro-Activ and it works for all of them (including me)!

Another thing that kind of worked for me (but not as well) is AcneFree or something like that. It works and it is alot cheaper.

Good luck and best wishes,

Hi there :)
Dito on the prob.

I've found that washing your face once a day is best. Try this only at night this way your pores are clean and won't clog up overnight.

In the morning rinse your face with ice cold water to shut your pores and minimize their appearence. Also, washing your face in the morning dries out your skin making your face pump out more oil then normal.

When you do wash your face, try a three step program.
First, use a Cold Cream to clean off any makeup. (This probably sounds dumb to you, but I've adapted to it and it totally works) You can subsitute this step with a daily exfoliant if you wish.

Then, wash your face. A simple cleanser will work, Neautrogena works fabulous, Clearasail, or Clean&Clear will also get the job done.

Finally, finish off with a toner. Apply evenly over the skin with a cotton ball.

I've never tried ProActive but my friends saw some great results. However, some have said after using it for a while then stopping, their acne came back much worse. This souly depends on the person and skin type.

On the contrary, I've used AcneFree. I hated it, barely any results and my face became extremly itchy from it. It got to the point where I had broken my skin from scratching so much. I eventually threw the product away. I wouldn't recommend it.

Good Luck <3

hey, don't even stress it!..I've had really bad skin in that past and ive been to a dematologist and everything and I think i have basically tried every freakin' medicine and topical cream thats on the market...Try pro-activ..i have it now however I didnt like it at first and tried canceling it, and they changed mine to extra strength and I love it. In the morning I found in useful to just wash your face with ice cold water and thats it..otherwise your face gets dried out and what girl likes having dry flaky skin...It's also a good idea to get like loose powder by like Cover Girl or something, jsut to help absorb the oils and stuff...Hope this will help <3
