Hey, Im a guy, still a virgin and i was wondering how reliable a condom is. Is it a recommended Idea to double up. I know the chances are like 2-3 in 100 but would doubling up make it like.001 percent chance. Thanks answers are appreciated
disasterxwoah answered Wednesday November 15 2006, 4:19 pm: NEVER EVER NEVER EVER double up on condoms. They rub together and it makes the breaking of the condom go up majorly.

Candoms are (I think, not 100% sure) 97% reliable, when used in the right way. If you are going to use the condom, make sure to use it in the right way, to decrease your chance of something bad happening.

But once again.. NEVER double up =] [ disasterxwoah's advice column | Ask disasterxwoah A Question ]

Melody answered Sunday November 12 2006, 10:39 pm: Don't double up. Ever.
That makes the condom more suceptable to sliding off. Seriously. Just, don't.
Condoms are 95% effective when used correctly. Sadly, they hardly ever are. Condoms are relibale, just make sure you get one to fit your size, and know how to put them on before hand. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]
Ahnee answered Sunday November 12 2006, 9:16 pm: no, never double up. EVER. the condom will rip and there will be no point. although sometimes they can break, thats why its less than 100% effective. Best thing is the pill but it doesn't protect you against STDs so using the pill and a condom everytime is your safest bet. [ Ahnee's advice column | Ask Ahnee A Question ]
sizzlinmandolin answered Sunday November 12 2006, 8:12 pm: One condom is plenty. The only reason it says that they are less than 100% effective is because people don't use them correctly. With perfect use, they are just about 100% effective. It will be safer for you to read and follow all the instructions in the box, than to double up. One of the instructions is to use extra lubrication with the condom. If it's dry, there's more of a chance for it to break. Many people don't do this. It's an important step. Spend a few extra dollars and get some lube. When you get it on, examine it for tears, lots of people don't do this either. Make sure it's on right, there's a good description of how to put it on with the instructions. No air bubbles, and a space on the top. Make sure that it's not past it's expiration date. I believe that it tells you in the instructions that it's not a good idea to double up. There are probably more important steps that I'm forgetting, so make sure you take a look at those instructions. Good luck. :) [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
ExNOTINI answered Sunday November 12 2006, 7:59 pm: It DEFINITELY would. Doubling up is a good idea. You don't want there to be a little accident and then there's a baby(: If you get condoms you'll notice on the box it says it is 95% safe. So yes, it could break. Even if there is like a 1 out of 100 possibility, theres no reason why it wouldn't happen to you. keep it safe dawgg(: [ ExNOTINI's advice column | Ask ExNOTINI A Question ]
Mackenzie answered Sunday November 12 2006, 7:58 pm: Never, ever wear more than one condom at a time. They will rub together, which will cause friction and result in an easy tear. [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]
