What I think you should do , is talk about something that happened at school or lately just to bring conversation or ask questions and he might bring more conversation just by the question.
Also make him want to be intrested, say one part of the story but leave him hanging, just to see if he wants to know the rest.
It will all work out!

I've used "1000 Questions for Couples" which is an online book. It cost about $20 and it was amazing. Worth every penny. If you're interested in this, Amazon.com is a good place to start looking for something.
