Ok...i am a catholic and my step mom is a babtist and she asked me if i wanted to go to church with her sometimes...is it okay if i go to a babtist church when i am a catholic? thanks in advance.
Even though it is OK to go with your mom, you should not subsititute going to her church on Sundays from your Catholic church. One of the answers said that Baptists and Catholics believe the same things. Well, it really is not true. They both believe in Jesus, but different theological points are quite different. You could go and worship with your mother, that is perfectly fine! But as a Catholic, you should also try to get to Catholic church as regularly as possible. You could also reciprocate the offer and you could bring your mother to your church occassionally.

bscotch answered Monday November 6 2006, 6:52 am: yeah thats fine. beacuse no matter what religion you were "baptised" as, each one still beleaves i the same thing..GOD..even though each church has a way of presenting it. your not going against anything of you do..your still praying and doing the holy thing..im catholic and still to this day go to a methodist chruch sometimes.. i think your parents and "god" would rather you go to different churches than to nowt go at all [ bscotch's advice column | Ask bscotch A Question ]
VainTaraLynn answered Sunday November 5 2006, 11:20 pm: Sure! It wont hurt anything. Its basically the same thing. The teachings arent that much different. Catholic sermons are different and they have masses and stuff, but other than that everything is basically the same and it doesnt mean that you are any less of a catholic.
