Worrying at school

Question Posted Sunday November 5 2006, 5:34 pm

I have a problem of constant worrying about getting things done. I feel as if there aren't enough hours in the day to finish all the homework teachers give us, I don't understand the lessons, then I fail the test, then it all starts over again.

I'm about to break down and cry. I get sick from worrying so much! The stress from school is killing me and my demanding parents aren't helping. What should I do?

the SAME thing happens to me. okay well i have really gotten to solve my problem but you could try making a schedule or doing your homework right when you get home, giving you the rest of then night to study or do what ever.

ok i think your parents need to take it easy just do your best thats all that you can and if other people arent satisfied including your parents then oh well. thank of it this way your like is going to be your life in the long run. so your going to have to start worring about satisfing your self a little more. your parents may not see that. if they dont then youll just have to let them go over your head until you hit 18.

Talk to a counselor, I never cared in HS, i graduated with average grades. Just try you best, and tell your parents that they are stressing you out.

You are just like me. All I do is worry all day. I've gotten over it, but sadly my grades didn't take the change too well. I say that you need an outlet. Someway to let go of all these tensions. What is it that you enjoy? I like theatre. So, I joined DRAMA at my high school. At first I was afraid of not having time to do my homework, but I do it during practice..all while having a good time. If you can't find something that allows you to do homework at the same time, you can always take breaks in between homework to do things that you enjoy. I don't know a good way to answer this. I just say that you should really relax and have a good time. Live life the the fullest and don't be so worried. Things will fall into place if you just relax.

You need to find a way to vent. You're holding all your emotions in and they just keep building up. There's enough time for everything. Take an hour each day for "me" time. Read a book, write in a journal, listen to music, go for a jog, watch some TV, anything you enjoy. If you can't take a deep breath and relax, nothing is going to get done. If you are calm and relaxed, things will get done much faster. It took me awhile to be able to do this, but I got the hang of it. At first you'll feel guilty and you'll have a hard time sitting there knowing that nothing is getting done for an hour. You'll realize though, how much it helps and it will start coming easier and easier to you. Oh, and forget your parents. Doing things for them instead of for yourself is no good. You need to take a break sometimes so just brush it off if they give you a hard time about it. Remember too, that you don't have to be perfect. Getting a 70 on a test is perfectly okay. Accept yourself for who you are, not what your parents, or even what you want yourself to be. It's ok to want to be better, but don't focus your entire life around that or you'll never be happy. Good luck. :)
