If you must try one, then coke's less risky. I don't know if you can form an addiction right away, but crack is highly addictive and can damage your health and kill you.

Coke is still addictive, but not as much so as crack. It can also cause health problems too (especially if the coke's cut with nasty stuff). I have tried coke myself a couple of times without any problems, but that doesn't necesarily mean you won't.

Both crack and coke affect the heart, so if you've got any heart problems or if your family has a history of heart problems don't even think about doing either.

In short: For god sake don't do crack. Coke's better, but if I were you I'd stick to weed and alcohol. Both are less harmful to your body and just as fun as coke (in my opinion)

If you want more information go to www.erowid.org

For god sake don't do crack.

Read the answers below. Specifically the one who said they were an experienced drug user. They are completely correct. I wont restate what they said, the dangers are well represented there.

I will give you a resource not mentioned. Because while we can tell you that doing either of those drugs would be a huge mistake, we cant actually stop you.

www.erowid.com.

This website is a compilation from many, many drug users. It has information on virtually every substance Ive ever heard of. Including dosage and safe use reccomendations. Please take everything with a grain of salt, though. Because while the website has information on how many others have done drugs safely, every person's biochemistry is different. And the drugs you are asking about are ones where if there are bad effects, the bad effects are often extreme.

A safety warning for you. Most people I know who do coke like to drink. Having a single shot, or a beer, or glass of whatever generally lowers your tolerance for coke by about half. I know more than one person who has ended up in trouble because they did coke for a while, got used to how much coke they could do, and then got drunk one night, did the normal amount of coke, and ended up in the hospital (two died) because once drunk your ability to handle coke shrinks significantly. Crack is made from cocaine, so that loss in tolerance will happen with that drug as well.

A final warning.

I know a few people who have tried some form of coke once and not liked it, and never done it again. Everyone I know who has done coke more than once has become addicted to it. Severely addicted. The problem with drugs, is that many people enjoy them so much that they do drugs until the point that being on the drug, being intoxicated, is normal. These are the people whos lives are destroyed one way or another by whatever drugs they become addicted to. I have heard a friend (who is now and probably forever in rehab) describe coke as a friend who never abandoned her, who was always there to comfort her. She started going coke at about age 15. It took until she was 21 to become such a problem that her life fell apart around her. But it happened.

---I'm an experienced drug user---

First, crack and cocaine are basically the same (unless the person you are getting it from uses different names). Crack is pretty much cheaply made cocaine.

And let me give you a practical warning. Unless you make it yourself, you can NEVER know what your drug is cut with. And it is always cut with something.

Yes, from experience, you can easily form an addiction the first time. And it's really hard to break. Unless you have a LOT of experience with addictive drugs (more addictive than cigarettes) I wouldn't even try.

Crack is worse only because, as a rule, it is not as pure as coke. Otherwise, both are equally bad for you.

Cigarettes, marijuana, alcohol, and speed are VERY different from cocaine. It's its own experience.

Now, here are the side effects from just one usage(I advise you READ THEM ALL)...
Hyperactivity, restlessness, euphoria, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, discomfort, depression, craving, sexual arousal, twitching, paranoia, hallucinations, seizures, respiratory depression, respiratory failure, stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, heart-failure, increased heat production, vasoconstriction (stopped heat loss, leading to fatal overheating), hyperthermia.

You are smart to ask. Information is your best weapon when it comes to drugs. Remember some basic rules: 1)Know your drug, 2)Know your source, 3)Know yourself and your limits, 4) Know what to do in an emergency.

The other answers given to you are correct. Even if you don't die, you could form a serious addiction from it. It only takes one time to get addicted. Smoking crack and doing coke is much different from drinking alcohol, smoking pot and smoking cigarettes. I personally have known someone who did too much coke, passed out, and almost choked to death on his own vomit. If his friend wouldn't have walked it to turn him over, he would be dead right now. He started out by "only trying it once". He's been in and out of jail and rehab ever sense and still isn't clean. He started out by drinking and smoking pot and it lead to more serious things suck as cocaine, crack, meth, and herione. These are very dangerous drugs and not something to be taken lightly. Why would you want to do something like that to yourself or the people you love? There are so many people I went to school with who tried drugs once and are hooked. It never leads anywhere good. If you do this, you will regret it later. Once you are addicted, you are always addicted. Even if you are lucky enough to stop taking the drugs, you will still have urges and side effects from them. Coke and crack deplete your body of nutrients and can cause your teeth to fall out, you can lose a tremendous amount of weight, and it causes you to look really old, not to mention the internal side effects. That's why you never see a pretty crack head. Once your addicted, it changes you as a person. You become dependent on the drug and you will try to get it no matter what it takes. That's why most people who do drugs live on the street. I've heard of instances where someone bought a guys house for twenty bucks just because he wanted more crack. He signed it over to him and everything. Here are some websites so you can read up on it. Please don't try it. If you have anymore questions or need someone to talk to please feel free to contact me. <3 Dana

Alin75 answered Monday October 2 2006, 10:27 am:
The answers below already covered what can happen, and they were perfectly correct. Yes you can form an addiction the first time, although the chances are greater with frequent use of the drug. I have a pretty good idea which one is less harmful, but I will not share that info in the hope that you will think twice.

You know, the real question is why are you doing those things? What lack in your life is causing you to seek out these "thrills", at the expense of your own safety? Messing around with hard drugs is really really reckless. Even if the drugs themselves dont get you, keep in mind that because they are illegal there is no one to control how they are produced. Thats why (as mentioned below) you can get all sorts of other dangerous stuff along with them. Why would you expose yourself to this risk?

Anyway, I hope you reconsider. Also seriously try and notice the pattern in what you are doing, and where this might lead you a few years down the line.

First of all, you really can die. If the coke is cut with poison or something you'll be dead within a second. Yes, you can form an addiction. Those arent drugs to mess with. They can really harm you in many ways. I would honestly say [for your own good] not to try them. You'll only regret it.

good luck

I can answer the first question as a former emergency room worker.

You can Die.

I have heard many friends say "but this is the first time we tried this".

I have seen many family members being told their child, grandchild, brother, sister, cousin...whoever
are dead. Such a waste for a little thrill.

I have heard they are both very addictive.

Neither is "less harmful". Any drug including an aspirin can harm the body if taken in excess.

Sounds like you are on the road to self destruction. Sad thing is no one here can help you
with that. You need to help yourself.

It is not "cool" to do drugs. It is stupid. Anyone tells you different is probably just another drug user.

Think seriously about finding some new friends. :)
