well first off to the person who said jaguars are good cars... don't believe a word of it. i own a 1977 jaguar XJ6 and this car is honestly the worst car i've ever run into. the rust is awful, the engine i had to completely redo as well as the brakes and interior. jaguars are a money pit and always end up projects

what you should do is first go to autotrader.com and look at cars from the following makes and models between the years of 1995 and 2006:

mercury:
grand marquis
marauder
milan
cougar

lincoln:
markVIII
towncar

ford:
crown victoria
taurus SHO
mustang

chevrolet:
camaro
caprice

buick:
roadmaster

cadillac:
fleetwood

mercedes benz:
E class
S class
C class

volkswagen:
golf
GTI
jetta

audi:
A4 quattro

subaru:
SVX
impreza
legacy
forester

toyota:
corolla
camry
celica (all trac prefferably)

volvo:
S40
S60
S70
960

I drive a Chevy Cavalier, 1991 and its a great car. We've had very few problems with it. My dad bought it for me with 120,00+ Miles on it and the only thing was the motor was going bad, which was nothing to do with my driving it. If you treat any car badly that can happen. Other than that its a GREAT car. It gets awesome gas mileage (not sure exactly how much ... but i drive 30 miles to work and back on a daily basis and fill up every other week and it costs me around $40 to fill up from near empty)

it all depends on you! whatever you want you will find in time! jaguars are really good, but if you have kids you might want to but a van.

Good old cars that are reliable and cheap to ensure: Ford Taurus, Chevys or Buicks.

Cars not to get: Camry, Accords (stolen most often) or trucks (tough to insure)
