Hey. Well just try talking to your mom. She probably wishes you guys could talk more too so you can start out by asking questions. Try to keep the conversation going. I was told that asking a lot of questions can really help you start a conversation. I mean don't go crazy but I'm sure it will help. Then if she answers try to fit in what's going on in your life and just show her that you really want to talk more. I'm sure she'll understand :). I hope this helps and please give feedback.
Chrissie

try starting to talk out casually. you know
"what did you do today?"
"we ahd a math test."
" did you do good?"
"i guess. i don't really like math."
talking about everything is how you get to talk about anything. just think of your mom as a friend. someone who won't judge you. just remember you don't have to hide things from her. talk to her like you would anyone else.

How about you try writing your mom a letter telling her how you feel.

Go shopping with her. Talk to her. Spend the day with her.

me and my mother used to be like that. i would never really talk to her about anything or let her know what was going on. but lately, whenever we're driving somewhere or something, i just start talking obout something that might be bothering me or i want her opinion on. whenever i get ready to talk to her, i just sort of think of it as how i would talk to one of my friends about stuff. i'll just be like,"have you ever had a friend annoy you?" or "i need your opinion on something" [ or whatever topic you're talking about ] and just start it off that way, and it is a little strange at first since you two haven't really talked before, but i'm sure she'll be glad you're starting to, and it'll bring you two closer. i hope i helped.

Well I would start sharing things with her about your life, dont tell her everything, tell her things you are comfortable talking to her with. You may have to stay in your comfort zone until you are ready to talk about hard issues, or just things you might consider saying but arent sure how she'd take it. But just tell her about your day, your latest crushes, about arguments you had with a friend, she'll appreciate that you tell her these things, and that you care enough to let her know whats going on in your life.
