Im 17 and i live in Maine. a year ago i lived in florida. I have my florida drivers permit but honestly i dont know the second thing about driving. I know how to start the car. I have been begging my dad to take me driving. Im desperate.
He tells me no not until you learn how to.
Up here in maine to get your permit you have to take drivers ed. And no you cant take it in school you have to pay $375 to take the course and im not lying. I told him ill take the course if he payed. He tells me no hes not paying because im the one that wants to drive. My mom tells him that its the parents responsbility to pay for the course. He totally disagrees and when ever that subject gets brought up he gets pissed.
My brother is 15 and he is all ready to pay for him to take the course. And i dont understand that.
I have the information and everything for this class but i cant get my mom to call to get information. How do i get her to call without throwing the phone at her?
Also should i have to take the drivers ed course up here to get a maine permit if i already have had my florida permit for over a year?

Hey :). Well it's not exactly fair that he's willing to pay for your brother but it may be because he knows your brother is starting out fresh and new at driving. You've already been there, done that and still don't know to much so he doesn't want to waste money on a course that he's not sure if you have to take. Now believe me I'm not saying it's your fault at all my friend because no one can retain all these things on driving (as if I had to tell you :)) haha I bet I'll be so lost when I start driving :). But, this may be the case. It sounds like your mom is all about getting you more into driving and figures, hey why not let her get better? And in this case they're both right. I would just ask your mom if you could talk one day and explain to her how much you really want to do this. Tell her that you've already gathered all the information to make it simple for her and all she has to do is call. Say please mom if Billy (just using a fake name for your brother lol) can take the course I don't understand why I can't since I am older and want this so badly. Of course before you waste all that money you can find out if you still have to take the course since you already have your permit. I'm not quite sure if you would have to because all states are different and I live in New Jersey. I hope I helped you at least a little :-).

My friends and I are going to be doing this thing on our video announcments with clay puppet things. The puppets will be talking about new movie and music releases. Theres an alien, a turtle and a horse looking thing. Well, we kind of need to title for the show. We have no idea what to call the show. hey does anyone know if theres any sites that would tell you if a certain person is in a certain school...like for example...you type in a name and it tells you if they're part of the school system or anything?

Okay, so my gym teacher. I can't begin to tell you how much I will loathe him. ALL my friends and random stragners feel SORRY for me because I have this one gym teacher.
I heard that he's a sexist, likes only the guys and girls who do sports and or are popular. I don't fit into any of those categories. So erm yeah, how or what shall I do to insure that I'll get an A and not a B? I try my best at everything but it does not show very well...

Hey. Yes I know that some gym teachers do deffinitely do this but then again there are so many rumors about gym teachers it's unbelievable. He may not do this at all so just give him a chance. It's tuff being a gym teacher for some reason and he may be really nice inside. Just try your hardest and I'm sure you'll do fine and don't listen to other people at first until you get your own opinion of him. If he does give you a bad mark and you tried your hardest then you know everyone was right and to report him :). But make sure you just do what's right without an attitude towards him and don't already judge him and I'm sure he will be fine :-). I hope I helped and please give feedback my friend :-).

Hey. Yeah a few of my friends got them and after a little while they were back to talking normally. It may take a while at first but you will get used to it. If you try practicing it might go away faster and quicker! :-). I hope I helped a little and please give feedback my friend.

My sexually abusive boyfriend ripped me while trying to fist me. I told him it wouldn't fit, he doesn't listen to me protest. He did say he was sorry and that he didn't intentionally mean to hurt me. It ripped a good 2 inches long, between my labia and my clitoris. It was bleeding like crazy last night, and this morning when I went to the bathroom it is still bleeding. Should I seek medical attention? how will I explain something like this without telling them my boyfriend is sexually abusive?

Go to a doctor my child! Go! You can get really sick if you continue bleeding so just go to a doctor and if you really don't want to get him in trouble say it was an accident. Just make sure you get to a doctor and SOON! :-).

16/f.ok so i just moved to a new school and the very first day i met this really nice girl. shes so sweet, and i sit with her at lunch. ive even gone over to her house and hung out with her. shes not really the type of person i usually hang out with, but shes so sweet. but over the weeknd i met these group of girls that go to my school and tehre more my type. they invited me to sit with them at lunch and they want to hang out with me more, but i dont know what to do. these girls dont liket he girl i met the first day and they dont really associate with her. who should i sit with and how do i break the news to the other one? thanks.

Hey. Yeah I've been in a situation like this before and I know, it's tough. Well does that other group have any reason to hate the sweet girl? You said she's really sweet so why would she be hated? That doesn't really sound like a nice group if they hate her because she's too sweet or nice but maybe there's more to it. Is the sweet girl alone? Then I would probably sit with her and I know you said all of you sitting together is not an option but I would at least ask the sweet girl if she wanted to sit with them too. But ask the other group first. If they say no I would sit with the sweet girl but still hang out with the others on certain days and the sweet girl on other days. Or ask if there's any reason they hate her. Are you sure they're just not the same and you're exaggerating? Hopefully that's the case :). Grinding is when you and a guy (or girl in my old school, haha only back to back) lean up against eachother front to front and you move in and out really sexy like up against him. ok i love my best friend more than anything. but i cant be happy for her when she gets a boyfriend!
now you would think i was jealous, but i dont think thats it because the boys she chooses are ugly and have zero personality. i would never be with them in a million years.
maybe it bothers me that i know she could do so much better but she doesnt? but that doesnt really make sense.
i thought it could be because i dont have a boyfriend? but i have 3 gorgeous guys that like me, so its not like i need attention.
i cant figure it out. all these guys are so fucking annoying and immature. and when i have to hear about them, watch them make out with her, or like read their conversations when she wants me to, i get really pissed off. i always tell her no to go out with them or whatever, and when its over she admits that she was crazy to get involved with them. but then when the next loser comes around i tell her the same thing and shes liek "im not listening to you this time" and has an annoying little smirk on her face. she is so annoying too. liek ogm i get so pissed off. its really annoying me that i care about something so much and idk why! does anyone else feel liek this ?

Hey. Well firstly I think that you can't understand why your friend goes out with these guys when you feel she's way out of your leauge. It agrivates you because you feel she shouldn't be acting all happy with these guys when she could have better. She probably says I'm not listening to you this time because she wants to find out for herself what the guy is like and all on her own. She would probably be upset if she didn't give him a chance because who knows, she could marry him. This may be her feeling and this is why she gives him a chance and then breaks up with him without listening to a friends advice first. Let her date the guys she choses and you will both be much happier (I hope :)) and heck why don't you go out with one of those hot guys that like you? You never know unless you give em a chance right? Oh and to answer your question about does anyone else feel this way I think that everyone feels this way about a friend at some time so don't feel wierd about it. Okay well first of all that's really creepy! Eww.... I would stay away from her as a friend because that is just creepy lol. Anyway now to helping you with your problem. Uhm I would probably just talk to her sternly (yes I know it will be hard but you have to do it or she will never stop), and say that's digusting and I really don't appreciate you popping my pimples at school because it hurts and I look like a bloody creep (you probably don't but just say that :) lol.) When she goes to do it just move away and say stop, really sternly! Oh and did you know popping pimples can cause you to loose brain cells? Personally I don't think so but just add that in so she will feel bad. I hope I helped my friend :).

this might be kind of long but here it goes...
im one of those people who think alot and over analyse things allllll the time and it drives me crazy! the worst is when someone says something to me and i just keep thinking about it in a what if what if what if way. like for example last year before homecoming i was talking to my friend and i was like gosh i need a date who's taller than me and isnt an idiot. so she says why dont you go with (insert name here)?" then i thought about it alot and i started to like him! it always happens, and the latest thing is in one of my classes i was talking to one of my guy friends and this girl says to me: dude you to need to go out already! now for the past 24 hours or so all ive been thinking about is what if we went out? do i like him? does he like me? and it wont stop! i cant just stop thinking, how do you tell yourself, "hey no more thinking!" that doesnt make any sense? it even happens when im sleeping, ill have like 4 different dreams in one night about whatever is bugging me and then when i wake up im exausted!i dont just think about like guys and stuff or anything its school too, im really good at math because i think so much like dont even bother me with the calculator or a formula, i just figure it out by myself. i dont know what to do! but my constant thinking is driving me crazy! please help!!!! Hey. Well first of all I want to let you know that it's not a bad thing what you're doing. It's actualyl very good that you can do this and a lot of people have the same problem :). But then again I bet that it's very annoying and hard to concentrate on other things which as you know, isn't good. You pretty much just have to learn to tell your brain to stop and think about other things and after a while you will get out of this habbit. Yes, it's a habbit my friend :). Eventually you will get used to not analyzing everything and it may take some time but before you know it this habbit will decrease more and more. Someone else kind of wrote something simalair to this but in the book A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith a teacher tells the main charecter Francie that instead of telling lies to make things seem more extravagent write them down on paper and write about what if this did happen. Now I know your case is a little different but instead of wasting your time analyzing all day you can write a short paper on the what if's of your thoughts kind of like someone else suggested to you :). what are some symptoms of depression? the way i eat, sleep & think has changed.. i hardly get any sleep, eat a lot & dont want to really ever do anything outside of the house.. there might be an ocasion where i try & get myself happy & it works & i do go places but other than that no. (link)

Hey. Well firstly usually people who are depressed just feel very upset, and mope around feeling like they have no friends or anyone who loves them, which of course they are very wrong. They also feel bored with life and always want to sleep, or eat. If you have these symtoms you may be depressed. Then again, the fact you can get yourself happy by going places is a great sign and you should try to do as much as you can to make yourself happy. Also, you said you don't sleep a lot which I think is a sign of not having depression, unless you lay up all night thinking of your problems. They also have medication for depression as you probably know already but the main question is, do you feel depressed? If you feel you are depressed then you probably are but if you're just saying you think so because of the symptoms then I think you're fine :). what can I say to my parents to convince them to let my boyfriend move in. He is a little older then me but sense they wont let me move out with him I really want him to move in here. Hey. Well first of all you are to young to have a say in letting your boyfriend move in unless you are at least 18. But still, if you are still living in your parents house at 18 they have the say. Once you turn 18 you can move out but I would move somewhere really close to home. Also, even at 18 you are very young to be living with your boyfriend. I would wait until you marry or at least get engaged. Just remember to be responsible my friend :).

14/f HELP ME SOON PLEASE....
Ok, well right now im crying. I was supposed to go to my boyfriend Ian's house but my mom just wouldnt take me. She left a note on my back so that I saw it when I woke up. It said," Sorry Rebecca, I love you. I just cant do this. You will be mad at me but I still love you. I dont want you dating anymore until you're 16. I dont want you to see Ian anymore. I love you." She's doing this because of my grandpa. I know she doesnt mean this because she approved of me and him. Its just because of what happened to my grandpa last night...
Right now we are experiencing a hurricane in my area and it has rained for the past four days now I think. My garndpa walked 3 miles in the rain to the cemetery where my great-grandma was buried, laid there for almost an hour, and talked to her. He told my grandma that my great-grandma said that she would see him soon, he would die soon. He told my grandma that no one loved him, no one cared for him, he was just too afraid to kill himself. He walked half way back and then started getting chest pains so he stopped and got someone to call the house. It was like 10:00pm. It's 7:00am right now, and he's still in chest pains, denying that he lives in th house, and my grandma is going to send him to an asylum. THIS IS ALL MY FAULT. IM A BAD PERSON. MY GRANDPA ALMOST COMMIT SUICIDE BECAUSE OF ME. IM A BAD PERSON. Rihgt now I just want all o this to go away but I love Ian, I dont want to stop dating him. I know that may be selfish in my current situation but I love Ian. I really do. And he loves me back. I dont want to break up with him. What should I do? I'm still in tears and the middle of a breakdown and I feel terrible about all of this. Please, if you're goingto give feedback, advice, ect., please dont say to break up with Ian. Hey. Well right now your family is going through a really rough situation but don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. You love your grandpa so much as I'm sure and you love Ian too. Just tell your grandfather that and talk to him about it. Say grandpa you know I love you more then anything in the world but I also love Ian just like you love grandma. I know this sounds easier then it may be but you have to do it. And don't become angry with your mother either because she's going through a really tough time right now too. Talk to your mother and tell her that of course you love your grandpa but you love Ian too and who knows, you may marry someday. Maybe you can tell Ian you just need a few days to sort all of this out and talk to him about it but make sure you tell him how much you love him. You love both of them right? Hey. Well just try talking to your mom. She probably wishes you guys could talk more too so you can start out by asking questions. Try to keep the conversation going. I was told that asking a lot of questions can really help you start a conversation. I mean don't go crazy but I'm sure it will help. Then if she answers try to fit in what's going on in your life and just show her that you really want to talk more. I'm sure she'll understand :). I hope this helps and please give feedback.

Hey. Well running away is pretty serious buisness in which I would never reccomend. It will probably worry the people you live with to death and it could be dangerous. I wouldn't do it. Call your dad and tell him you want to live with him. Or talk to the people that you live with and tell them how you feel about what's going on. But don't hurt their feelings (unless they're treating you badly or cruely), but if they're not I would let it pass over and talk to them about it. I hope this helps and please give feedback.

my brother has this thing that he has to be better than me in everything i do. for example we were in a arcade and they had that basketball game where u shoot the balls and i got a higher score than he did and he didnt show it but i knew that it bothered him that i beat him in basketball.. even hate home when we are playin like horse or something he gets mad when i keep gettin them in and he keeps missing also i have been hip hop dancing for 6 years and my bro always has to try and show off dance moves in front of me even tho he cant dance that good and he's like ha i bet you cant do that and i just play dumb and say no i cant do that.. i mean its soo annoying that he has to compete in everything i can do... what should i do i mean its so dumb for a 19 year old to compete with me and im only 14 its kinda pathetic

Hey. A LOT of people have a problem with competitiveness and I know, it's very annoying! It also makes you feel as if you have to compete back sometimes, right? Or just pretend that you're bad at something so you don't have to hear him act all upset, mad, or angry. Well I would talk to your mom or dad about it. Now they may feel bad because it's their son and may not make you feel any better because they love both of you so much and wouldn't talk about either of you to the other one. Obviously, right? But they may help out and have a talk with the both of you :). Another option is talking to your brother about it and telling him exactly how you feel. He will probably get really angry but if you don't do this it may never end. Next time you're about to play a game with him say no thanks because every time we play a game and I win you get all upset and I don't want that. He may continue to insist that you are going to play but it will lessen his desire to act all upset. I hope this helped even if only a little and please give me feedback my friend.

Well, you see, I have a really messed up mom. She tries to make me and my sister hate my dad. They are divorced. And she is making are lives suck because she wants to make my dad mad. Hey. It sounds like your mom is really angry and upset with your dad but your right, he is your dad. But I don't think your mom is messed up either she is really just hurting inside and this helps her cope. Talk to your mom about what she's doing and tell her that it upsets you when she talks about your dad that way just like if it was the other way around. Don't acuse her or act mad because that will just make her feel really bad so just talk. About the smoking. She is probably doing it behind your backs because she really cares about your opinions. I would also confront her about this but only if you have evidence. Just say mom I know you're smoking and it's really upsetting me and I love you so much so this is why I'm telling you. Smoking will make you sick. Try to get her some help and she may protest but it will be better for all of you in the long run :). my dad told me i have to get a job before i can get my license and a car. but the problem is i dont want a job and here lately he has been takin me to look at cars. i always try to tell him i dont want a job and hes like well i guess you wont be driving. but i dont understand WHY he wants me to get one, hes always tellin me about how if i want to go to my dream college (texas), well ANY college, then i have to get a scholarship. how in the world does he expect me to get one if im always going to be working? i play softball so of course i would have to probably quit just so i would have time to do my school work. i mean i have explained this stuff to him and he doesnt get it! i get out of school at 212 and practice starts at 230, and i dont get home til about 5, and i barely have time to finish my homework now!! and the last thing i wanna do is give up softball, but i want to drive WITHOUT a job!! can someone give me ideas on how to convince him?? Hey. Well first of all cars are really expensive so it would probably be hard to just get you a car. It would be a lot easier on your dad if you got a job. Also, you said you don't even like softball that much but you probably wouldn't have to quit anyway. Is softball practice on weekands to? If not work weekands. Try doing your homework at different times instead of times you're used to. If you want a car you have to learn to be responsible and getting a job and helping your father pay for the car wouldn't hurt. I know this probably isn't what you want to hear but, it's true my friend :). Get the job and it will help you :). If you REALLY can't fit it in talk to your dad about it and tell him how hard it will be. Please give me feedback my friend :-).

Hey. Well, I'm only 14 and can't say I've ever even had sex so I don't know if I'm the right person to ask. But do you know how thrilled you made me by asking me for advice? Very! Well anyway you don't want to hear about that. You need an answer! If it didn't go inside of you then my personal feel is that you can't get pregnant since it didn't go inside. But to be honest I may be wrong. I would look it up online and if you don't want anyone to see go to your history and erase all the sights you went to about it. This may make you feel better though :). But please feel free to ask my advice again anytime you need it! (I'm just probably not the right person for this since I'm unexperienced compared to you lol). But remember, use a condom so next time you won't have to worry! Even if your boyfriend makes you feel peer presure, use one! Or of course, wait until you feel you will get married :).
