adviice_whore answered Monday September 11 2006, 10:07 pm: i have one right now and i got mine a few weeks ago, and i'm talking a lot better now but there are still some words i'm having trouble saying. but mine didnt hurt at all so i dont know what the person under me was talking about. so yeah just give it time and you wont even know its there. good luck :) [ adviice_whore's advice column | Ask adviice_whore A Question ]

DearChrissie3737 answered Monday September 11 2006, 9:06 pm: Hey. Yeah a few of my friends got them and after a little while they were back to talking normally. It may take a while at first but you will get used to it. If you try practicing it might go away faster and quicker! :-). I hope I helped a little and please give feedback my friend.

duudee_advicer answered Monday September 11 2006, 8:35 pm: Yuck, I had one when I had braces in second grade. I never quite perfected my S`s until a few months after getting the expander put in.
However, my boyfriend just got an expander and he only talked funny for three or four days.
pinkpong answered Monday September 11 2006, 8:22 pm: ive never even heard of a palette expander, but ive got a feeling that the lisp will go away. i mean, i dont understand why a doctor would administer something that would give you a permanent speech impediment, ya know?
