Question Posted Saturday September 2 2006, 6:22 pm
i have had my period for serverals years now. but the past months it has come every two weeks. it lasts for a week. then two weeks later it is back. is this normal. and why would it do this.
sizzlinmandolin answered Saturday September 2 2006, 10:24 pm: I'm not a doctor, but I think that what is happening is that your hormone levels are off. That happened to one of my friends and she ended up having to have surgery. I'm not trying to scare you, but you should go to a doctor about this. Having your period that much is not normal, nor is it good for you. It's not life threatening so there's no rush, but do talk to your doctor as soon as you get the chance. Good luck. It will tell you all about it.
Now, I had this done and the periods returned to normal, but I was told that it would eventually come back and I can't remember how long it was but it did come back. I ended up getting a hysterectomy in the long run. Not to scare you,but do see a gyno,o.k.?

MelLeDisko answered Saturday September 2 2006, 10:01 pm: every girl's body goes through different changes at different times and girls are bound to have irregular periods. like my current period was supposed to have about a week and a half ago, and i was getting all worried, but it finally came today. i would suggest going to the doctor or the gyno and checking up and ask them what you should do, and maybe they can put you on the pill to help regulate your period. i hope i helped. Imperialistic answered Saturday September 2 2006, 9:53 pm: My friend has had the same problem like you for years. She went to her doctor and had him give her birth control to regulate her period. There wasn't a hormonal problem but it's well worth it for you to go get it checked out anyway.
My period skips for months and then comes back. Everyone is different and your body is constantly changing. Rapid weight loss or gain or stress can also effect your menstral cycle. Don't panic put go consult a doctor or a clinic to see what you should do. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Saturday September 2 2006, 7:46 pm: everyones period is irregular at one point or another. most likely, it will not stay this way. your case isn't as average as some others. i have that when i exercise a lot, but it does not last for weeks. i would suggest going to a gyno. asap. yes, a gyno is a bit weird at first, but really, you don't want something to be wrong. a lot of girls go through this.
