acting.

Question Posted Friday September 1 2006, 2:31 am

hey. i am looking to get into acting, but i need some answers to a couple questions as soon as possible. all help is appreciated.

-first off, as for an audition, your agent gets you those, right? what happens at an audtition?

-as for an agent, how do you get one? my friends mom said you have to write the agency a letter saying why they should represent you included with a headshot and resume. is that true?

-as for a resume, what if i have no prior experience? what do i put on the resume?

-honestly, how hard is it? like, what are your chances of getting a part?

thanks soo much, i'm hoping someone who has been through this will be able to reply, but if you haven't and know about it that works too =].

Your agent will sign you up and will you playrolls in movies and yes, get you into auditions. Yes, you must write to a worthwhile agency and prove them why they should represent you. Get in Drama Classes ( not in school) and sign up for plays and such that will be major plusses. You want to have good charisma and be ready, i'll describe to you my audition, it all depends what you sign for if it's acting then they will give you a script that is like an ad for something popular (i had to do pepsi). You will be taken into a room with most likely some other girls/boys and have to playrole the script they gave you infront of them and a video camara. They also will give you a questionaire about personal things (e.g bust size), AND make you write an essay on why they should support you if you succeed in the audition. Hope I helped!

Heyy! im getting lessions for musical theater,i love acting/singing/danceing. anyways, yes, your agentsdo get those, and they'll either ask you to send in a tape with lines from the script (of the person your auditioning for) or they'll tell you to do something in frount of them

im guessing to get an agent you have to look in the phone book,or from a friend find one..your friends mom might be right...also,plese dont go to an agency that asks you to pay up frount.its most likely a scam and you will loose all that money.

i think you shuld take lessons if you hae no expeirience.they want you to know where you went and how long you've been in acting, also something like sending a performance..i think :o

its extreanly hard.just think, there are so many other people trying to get the part with you.you know the movie rent? well it took joanne ("real name tracy) 8 years to get that part.

i havent been through it,but i've observed, and my sisters friend was trying to get into acting careers,so he told me a lot of stuff. also my 2nd cousin acts in a sitcom
:) goooooood luck!!!!

I'm going to try and answer you as best I can. I thought about becoming an actress so I had these same questions. As far as what happens at an audition, that changes everytime. This is so that you're not thinking of your answers before the audition. It also depends on what the movie/show/etc. is about and that helps them tell you what to say or do. Yes, you need to send a resume and a picture to an agency. You may have less of a chance of getting a part if you have no prior experience but if you say that you're dedicated, etc. then they may look you over. It's hard. But it depends on what you're looking into as well. It all depends on your skill and how dedicated you're willing to be. =] Hope this helped!
