when you are having sex for the first time
your hymen will break and it hurts
One_Fine_Day answered Tuesday August 22 2006, 8:54 pm: Yes, it's kind of a thin layer, called the hymen, at the top of the vagina that breaks when the penis enters it. It can be painfull for some people or just mildly uncomfortable and sometimes a person can bleed afterwards but it's nothing to worry about. The hymen is only very thin and so can be broken prior to the person even having sex, horse riding, cycling, using tampons or just vigarous exercise can break it.
hope i answered your question! [ One_Fine_Day's advice column | Ask One_Fine_Day A Question ]
MelLeDisko answered Tuesday August 22 2006, 4:42 pm: It's the hymen that breaks. That's where the term "pop your cherry" and whatever other people call it comes from because that's basically what happens. It pops/breaks. But like the person below said, it can also break from horseback riding and using tampons. I hope I helped. <3 [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
orphans answered Tuesday August 22 2006, 4:25 pm: There is the hymen (dont know if i spelled that right) that breaks in the vagina, but for most girls, its already gone from using tampons, horseback riding, and other active activities. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
