My friend and I are creative people and we want to start our own clothing line (but we don't know how to sew or much of anything)...any advice? I was thinking maybe we could start an accessory line instead but I don't know. Any advice is appreciated.

Make them part of the line too, cause the more people, the quicker clothes will get made anyways. Or if any of your friend's mom or your mom's know how to sew, ask them to help you learn. And to get it started off, what I've noticed people doing is making a myspace for their clothing line and then they add lots of people , and people wind up ordering and using pay pal and stuff to pay for it and everything. I hope I helped. [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]

Maybe if any of your family members knows how to sew maybe you should ask them to teach you and your friend or if none of your family can then try making some money and take some sewing classing or fashion classes...well I hope you take my advice

Dont rush everything, It all takes time. What you could do is start an accessory line first, then if all goes well, then start the clothing line. Go to places where theres alot of people, such as a carnival, then have a little mini store there.

Make a small site that is free and hand out the links to people.Or if you have something like Tomatoe Festivals or Carnivals or such, see if you can set up a little shop to sella few items. Maybe start off by making bead/thread necklace, bracelete, etc. See how that goes and choose what you will do from there on. [ ductape_n_roses's advice column | Ask ductape_n_roses A Question ]
