It could be herpes, yes. Go to the doctor and see for yourself so you can know for sure. But just because it's a possibility doesn't mean that you do have them. It could simply be cold sores. Try keeping abreva on them, and if they don't go away, go to the doctor.

Yes, you could get this checked out as soon as you possibly can. This can just be a simple infection of the mouth, or it can be something more severe like STDs. But in the meantime try canker sore medications or oral over-the-counter antibiotic medicines/liquids like listerine (common one) or hydrogen peroxide. If no improvment within a few days, contact a Doctor immediately -- since it could potentially be something serious.

StarryNightSkies answered Sunday July 30 2006, 10:51 am:
That doesn't really sound like herpes because herpes is usually on the outside of your mouth like coldsores.... this sounds like syphillis (rare but it's making a comeback... a lot of people in my school have it) when you have syphillis you get sores on the inside of of your mouth... you should get checked out! They will probablly give you a simple injection that will get rid of it all.

What are the symptoms of oral herpes?

Oral herpes usually appears on the lips or inside the mouth as "cold sores" (small blisters). Oral herpes can be spread through contact such as kissing, or though oral sex. Direct contact for a short amount of time is enough to spread the virus. Cold sores are common in young children. Oral herpes in adults is usually just a "flare-up" of an infection from childhood. Cold sores are annoying but harmless in children and adults, but can be dangerous to a newborn.

Is there treatment for herpes?

Yes. Your health care provider can prescribe medications that quicken healing, make symptoms less painful, and lower the risk of getting outbreaks while you are taking the medications. These medications don't kill the virus and don't prevent you from getting outbreaks in the future. Once you catch the herpes virus, you always have it. Even when you don't have any symptoms, the virus is in the body and can "flare up" at any time. However, outbreaks usually become fewer and cause less severe symptoms as time goes on. Outbreaks often become less frequent after five or six years of getting herpes.

Does treatment cure herpes?

No. Herpes cannot be cured but it can be treated!

Yes, you probably should get it checked out. And next time use protection because like you read up there, there is no cure for herpes.

hey,
herpes is a Viral diseases causing eruptions of the skin or mucous membrane. i thought i could help you with the meaning. But either ways, you should definitely consult a doctor, because he is medically experienced and knows better than any advice that could be given to you on the site. But you are still welcome to post your problems, troubles, worries, and concerns.
So goodluck:)
