Candy Store Worker

Question Posted Saturday July 29 2006, 5:16 pm

I am a 17 year old female & I work at a candy store. I really like working there, the only trouble is they let us eat whatever we want. I am not big, but I do wind up eating TONS of candy & I want to stop! I try to tell my self I can't (or just to have a little bit) but when I see everyone else I work with eating too, I cave in and wind up over eating most of the time. How can I stop eating so much? How do I get more will power and not eat the candy (or at least cut down on the amount I eat)? any advice (besides quitting my job) would be great! Thank you!

When they start eating look away,so you don't have the temptation to want to eat, bring yourself something healthy like fruit, remember whenever you're hungry eat fruit.

You know i heard chewing gum helps people quit smoking. And i'm sure that it will work considering you'll all day have something sweet in your mouth all day.

Hope I'm help

Buy some snack bars or granola bars and keep them at work. And when you feel like eatting candy eat one of your snack bars.

Or chew gum so that you wont be able to eat the candy.

Here are some suggestions about how to get rid of the candy and to stop eating so much:
Burn all the candy.
chunk it in the trash.
throw it out the window.
give it away for free.

How you get more will power not to eat the candy:
close your eyes and don't look at it.

your welcome.

Eating fruit always works for me when I'm craving candy. It sounds like it wouldn't be a very satisfactory replacement, but it really is.

Try bringing some strawberries or pineapple with you and eating that when you crave the candy. I usually carry around frozen chunks of each. You can buy them by the bagfull for fairly cheap that way.

Of course, cave in sometimes. A little candy in moderation never hurt anyone. Just go in with a small bag of fruit. Have some candy (a preset amount that you feel is acceptable) and then if you still crave candy, eat your fruit.

you could take a few small snacks to work with you instead, like some crackers or chunks of fruit. then when everyone else starts diggin in the candy, jus snack on whatever you brought with you.. and if you still crave some candy, you could just have a few pieces at the end of your shift. good luck!
