1st Period.

Question Posted Wednesday July 26 2006, 4:05 pm

I'm a 14F turning 15 in 3 months. I still haven't had my 1st period and am VERY curious to find out how soon it is coming. I have heard that you get it around the same time as your mother did, but my mom got hers when she was 11, almost 12. I am 5'1" and 95 pounds. Any estimates?

Dear 1st Period,
Technically girls can have it around the ages
8-16. Although your mother had it at the age of 11, you could still have it later or sooner.
The time you get your period is based around YOU.
But if you dont get it by the age of 17 1/2-18 consult a doctor.

Well, it depends, my mom didn't get hers until she was 16! I'm assuming you might get yours soon. [[Sorry I couldn't really have any estimates, only i know it'll happen soon.]]
But BE LUCKY! I wish I could go back to not getting my period, so enjoy not having it while it lasts! lol
Hope I Helped!
well, sometimes that's true, but not all the time. some people don't get it till their 16 or 17, and that's totally normal. i got it when i was 9, and i'm your age. i wish i would be getting it now lol

It may be your size, or maybe you just develop later than everyone else. I wouldn't worry until your 16 or 17 and still haven't gotten it. For now, I suggest you enjoy it because once it comes you'll dread it.

Its just your mom that effects your period. My mom got hers at 15 and I got mine at 10. Mine was that way because my aunt got hers at 8. Look into when your other female relatives got theirs.

If I were you, I'd be happy I didn't get my period yet. I got mine about a year ago, but don't worry I know girls, such as my cousins, who didn't get their periods until they were sixteen and seventeen and their mom got her period at age twelve. I think you will probably get yours this year and if not, then the next. You will get yours I promise, you just have to wait. Hope I heped :)

There's no combonations you could give of your characteristic that will "estimate/predict" the arrival of your peiod. Some females don't get one until age 17. Acutually, feel luck you haven't. They can be a pain. An indication that you might be near starting though could be, weight gain, discharge in your undies, tenderness to your breasts, cramping, and the development of pubic hair. Not all of these things will happen--or all at once, but they're something you can be on the lookout for. In the mean time, enjoy nothing having to worry about it! :)
