It is hard to pull out my tampons... is it supposed to be hard to pull out a tampon?

Question Posted Monday July 24 2006, 4:40 pm

so i put a tampon in for the first time .. i got it in real easy like it didnt hurt or anything. but like when i took it out it felt so weird.. it didnt like hurt but it felt like an "ah that felt weird" kidna feeling. like i dont know if its suppose to feel that way or if the tampon is supose to just gently slide on out or if u have to pull it out with some strength <- thats what i had to do .. and than my other fear is like losing the string like if itll wonder inside of u or something.. is that possible?

Thats normal. What probably gave you that "funny" feeling was because u were tense while taking it out. If you just relax they go in and come out easier. They will not get lost inside of you. You just need to get used to it.

If it didn't hurt when you took it out, then most likely everything was ok with the way you put it in. If you had to use some strengh and it felt weird, it probably didn't absorb enough blood, i.e you didn't wear it long enough. It's impossible to actually lose a tampon up in you, but it is possible for the string to get up in you, and not be visible. It's unlikely but it happens. It's happened to me before. If you get unlucky and this happens to you, you just have to go digging for it. And yes, i'm aware of how gross that sounds.

I have the same problems too. and yes the feeling when you pull it out isn't supposed to feel great or turn you on. it iritates me when i pull mine out because it feels weird. and sometimes when the tampon wont come out you should pull harder. I get scared sometimes that when i pull the string it will come off and the tampon will be stuck in there but i guess thats a risk that i have to take. The first and second day when you bleed alot it will come out easier. when you think your about to be off of it use thong pads or regular pads because if you dont bleed alot and put one in and then pull it out later it will feel all dry and even more weird. and there also is a chance some of the cotton or what ever is on the tampon will pull of and cause toxic shock syndrom. be carful and never forget to take it out. good luck.

The most important thing to do, relax. (ugh I hate that word I can never spell it right, sorry). The more you relax the easier it will be for you to pull out the tampon. Sometimes you might have to use a little strength, and other times you won`t ; it all depends on how full the tampon is.

About the string. I have NEVER EVER EVER heard of someone pulling out the string. It`s stuck in there pretty tight. I wouldn`t worry about it. It`s like a zillion billion in a 1 chance of that happening to you. Don`t sweat it. It won`t come out, and if it does (which isn`t going to happen there is always 911 ) :]

When you remove the tampon try and relax your muscles(it will help with the wierd feeling). It will also ensure that it comes out with more ease. Like the others said......dont worry about it getting lost in there. Just dont shove the tampon too far up...you should be able to feel the pressure of when to stop.

Dont worry about it, tampons are supposed to need a little extra pulling to get out. About losing the string, it doesnt happen that much but could happen. Dont freak out if it does because if it does the tampon has nowhere to go so all you have to do is reach in and get it.

its normal for a tampon to feel weird when u pull it out and no it doesnt just come out easly because it expands so i guess you can say it takes some strenght.& i wouldnt worry about looseing the string because the string is long. And its not likely. hope i helped
