How do i get people to understand im not obsessed with mysel
Question Posted Monday July 24 2006, 2:55 am
Ok, i am the last person in the world to ever try to show off my looks or my body, and i hate talking about my appearance because i am so slender. People tell me im gorgeous, and that i'll be happy i was skinny when i was young because ill benifit later in life. Everyone tells me i could be a model blah blah . I hate it. Especially since people think models are all b*tchy and high maintanence. So one day, i applied on model search america.com, and they phoned me back and want me to go to las vegas for an interview. How do i even tell anyone about this? If i tell my friends they'll think im trying to get attention. Im obviously not gonna go , but still. Please tell me what i should do! Emma
My advice is: follow your heart. Do what you gotta do and forget what everybody says. They might just be jealous-food for thought.

If you go through with it (going, I mean) you could show people that models aren't stuck up. Just don't let being a model go to your head and stay the person you are. I really hope you go through with it, it sounds like a chance you shouldn't pass up. Whatever you do, good luck! :) ems [ emster812's advice column | Ask emster812 A Question ]

Any model can have her own personality, just don't let it get to your head. This sounds like a great chance you might want to take. Think about all the positives you could get from this! And, if you don't like it after a few months, you could always just come back home.

I think you should go. Dont let people hold you back, you have recieved a great opertunity,
if they are your REAL friends they will be so happy for you! I dont even know you and I'm excited about that, thats amazing! I really think you should take this change, you may never get it again. Dont let people talk you out of it because they think models are mean, you be the first to show them that you can be a model and you can be nice! Dont give up!

xosweetiepiexo answered Monday July 24 2006, 9:24 am: i think you should totally go for it! this is a great oppurtunity, and you should deffinetly try it out.
honestly, what do we really know about a models personality. an average citizen sees them in magazines and such, we know they're beautiful, but we don't know there personality. Its a stereotype because of shows on t.v. and stuff like that.
Plus if your a kind person, your friends will and should be happy for you.
if you still feel uncomfortable, maybe you might just want to tell a couple of your really close friends. but deffinetly don't let this oppurtunity pass you by.
Tulipg17 answered Monday July 24 2006, 7:53 am: You should go if you want to explore the possibilities. Tell your friends, but just don't brag or talk about it too much, you know? Be proud to be beautiful sweetie, there is nothing worng with having good genes. Just don't rub it in to those who don't. [ Tulipg17's advice column | Ask Tulipg17 A Question ]
