Verizon

Question Posted Wednesday July 12 2006, 6:07 pm

i was thinking abouts switching from cingular to verizon. my bf & some of my friends have verizon, so overall i thought it would be a good idea so we can be "in" & have free mins including the regular plan & texting. my cingular plan is 2 years, so it's not over until december. the thing is, my cingular bill has been going up & i really think we should switch to verizon so that it wont be as much. is there anyway to break that contract. if so, what are the outcomes & how long does that take?? if we do break it, can i get a verizon phone from the store as soon as i do that?? i want it so that i always have a phone & there isn't a time where i don't have one.

thanks!!

if you break the contract, you ahve to pay a cancellation fee, which is about 100-200 dollars. i think for cingular it is $125, but i may be wrong. it doesnt take long, and you can go to verizon, and even keep the ssame number

It would be much easier to just wait the contract out. No legal action or anything.

if you cancel your plan, you have to pay a cancellation fee. its easy, but its like a little expensive. verizons cancellation fee is $175. for cingular, i believe it is 150 dollars

Okay. See, I have verizon. I do like it and all, but I really spent up my minutes. It is great if you get a plan where you can call other verizon people and it won't cost. But see, my plan is that so I cannot use free minutes when I call my friends who have verizon. It is a pain, and I can't change the plan after 2 years. If you decide to get verizon, make sure your plan is that when you call verizon people, it's using free minutes. Also, if you plan to break your plan with cingular, it will have to cost some money. I was thinking about going to T Mobile. But, I found out, that if you break Verizon's contract, you will have to pay alot of money. And i'm not talking just like 50 dollars. It's either between 300-600 dollars. But, that is what I heard from one of my family members. If you do decide to get verizon, you probably will be able to get verizon after you get rid of cingular. The problem might be though, your parents will have to make you pay for it. And, that is going to cost quite amount of money.
I hope I helped!
